I wonder what the PL's paymasters would think of your proposal?

In my opinion Silver, for what it's worth, the season should be finished now with all league tables as they are.
Those in the promotion places promoted, those in the relegation places relegated. Those in the play-off positions - the highest placed team wins.
Start in August (if possible) with the next season as normal.
(Tin hat at the ready!! :p)

All that is needed at the moment is to end the current season now, so that club's can shut down, rather than be left in limbo.

As to what we do with promotion/relegation/next season, all that can be decided when we have a clearer picture as to how long the game is likely to be shut down for.

This just came up in my Google feed. Admittedly it's from the Daily Mail so maybe a fake story (haven't had the chance to look up another source). Five years seems pretty extreme. I'm surprised the 2nd division clubs agreed although I guess $845k a year each sweetened the pot. Would be interesting to see what would happen if the PL offered something similar to the EFL

it would take a big pay day for the Championship clubs to agree due to massive investments by owners chasing PL
