Connor Shanks

    Does anybody know if Connor Shanks is part of the Shanks family originally from Thornton? Certainly Andy Shanks (who must be mid to late 40’s now) was in the city youth team for a while in the late 80’s. Him and his brother Mick were excellent cricketers for Thornton. Their Mum and Dad had the fish shop by the Great Northern pub, the dad (David) was a big City fan.

    Just curious. They were a smashing family. Wondered if Connor was from the same family.

    Wondering that myself I lived in Thornton for over thirty years and new mr Shanks well. Great fish and chips saw him down at VP quite a lot

    yes, that’s Andy Shanks on the right. He was a very good footballer in his younger years and a good lad to go with it. Didn’t make it professionally in the end despite being in the youth team but nice to see that his lad has.
