Collins v Hopkin

Hopkin is proving a failure.

Can't dress it up. He has been a disappointment

 

You popped your cork with excitement when Haris Vukic turned up so why should I accept this nugget of wisdom?

 

I’m not arguing but I don’t think the stats are black and white.

We’re like a runaway train, gathering momentum, in a negative sense.

If Hopkin had been appointed in the summer and led our recruitment then I think we’d have been in a much better position. He’d have the sort of players he wants, pre season would’ve been more professional etc.

I think the impact of getting their coach sacked after a month will have shattered an already fragile squad. As it’s gone more and more off the rails, the lack of leadership within the squad is taking its toll. Everything I see shows that we’re a broken club. The players aren’t arsed about playing for it and there’s no honesty or leadership from within the playing ranks. They look a completely disinterested, disengaged bunch and it stems from the top. We could have Guardiola in, with Klopp as his assistant and I don’t think it’d make much difference right now.

I’ve no idea how we even start to judge Hopkin, such is the mess that we are in as a club. It’s beyond fixing, without a full rebuild from the top down.

 

That’s on the players. As soon as we concede, their arse falls out. Gutless, the lot.

 

No difference whatsoever. Collins should never ever have been given the gig! Abbott presiding over shambolic recruitment and zero pre--season was a disaster waiting to happen. Hopkin is now powerless to change anything in this hopeless mess and January will be too late!

 

If Collins had stayed his record would be just as bad. Only one person to blame for all of this and that is ENID

Collins was thrown under a bus. He has my sympathy to be honest as he got pelters from the fans yet Hopkin appears to be getting away with it at the moment. His record is appalling to be honest, as is his style of play.

 

If Collins had lasted any longer his win record would be the same if not worse than hopkin’s.

He was crap.

 

McCall just lost his fifth successive game, should Scunthorpe be sacking him now? Got to give managers time, Parkinson had a poor first season before things improved with his own squad and we need to see what Hopkin can do with his own players and coaching staff. Sadly I don't think he'll get the chance.

 

Totally agree otherwise we might aswell start giving managers month to month contracts. But just talking hypothetical if he does walk this week, we need someone in fast

 

Collins didn't get a chance then did he?

 

David won't be going anywhere anytime soon. He has the full backing of the owners and rightly so. He has come in, picking up other people's mess and I believe he has got what it takes to take the team forward (after a successful January transfer window).

There will be funds available and I think we need to give David until the end of the season before we start questioning his future at City.

A different class to Collins, proven winner in Scotland and an overall good appointment. We should be grateful he came - no one else wanted to!

 

OK. Let's assume that Hopkins gets the push. Who's next and more importantly who would come? How long would you give him?

 

I preferred Alien v Predator. Lots more action.

 

Collins was s***e tho - out of his depth! Glad he's gone! Cheap option they tried but quickly realised he wasn't good enough.

Different story with Hopkin - the owners will be very patient with him. You can't expect a miracle overnight - he's not a magician.

 

If he'd managed more games, he'd have somehow won one fewer than he did in just six games...?
