Very good and insightful interview. I’ve said this before but I do like the way he comes across. He is certainly saying all the right things and is clearly passionate about his job and dedicated.

I really hope this enthusiasm has been rubbing off on the players and they are all buying into the vision and it brings about a positive season.

Also the importance of Greg’s presence is mentioned which many fans are still overlooking.

We'll know barring you that Abbott is the manager.

    Words mean nothing.

Let's see what happens over the next 2 -3 months.

If Abbott was the manager do you really think he’d just sit and watch whilst all the players he signed last season and the season before are systematically sold off by Collins ?

They're sold off because they've failed.

Abbott will know that last years signings were not good enough. He won't have a problem shipping them out. Why would he?

Basically he has no choice because he’s not the manager

Aside from the obvious around experience, that's a great interview suggesting dedication, application, commitment, desire and most importantly, the understanding he needs to continually learn.

Like it. Refreshing amongst the stagnant pool of yesteryear quotes from 'seasoned managers/coaches'.

You know what. Good bloody luck to the lad.

Nothing. Learnt that from last season.

However, the new management team and Edin urgently need to get off to good start this season.

Obviously we'd all like that. But why is it ''urgent"? Not everyone will will throw their toys out of the pram like you if we aren't in an automatic promotion position by October.

    Great read.

Wish him all the luck in the world.

Yes I agree, it is a good interview and there are a couple of interesting tit-bits about how he came to the job! He talks well with enthusiasm and seemingly in an open and honest way. What's not to admire about that?

Collins is what he is; inexperienced, not the first choice, with a desire to succeed, willing to learn from others and somebody who made a conscious move to go into coaching during his playing career. And he has already been part of the team responsible for bring a couple of above-par players into the club. He may succeed with those attributes or he may not and nobody knows at this stage what will happen. But he deserves to be given a chance and to be judged later on the team's performances and the team's results. I really want him to succeed but if that doesn't happen, I won't be attaching too much blame to him. He is what he is.

The appointment of Collins and our management team is seen a joke around the footballing world. If we get off to a poor start then questions will be asked and rightly so.

A very interesting read. He articulates himself extremely well and appears to be under no illusion on the task at hand yet he is clearly more than up for it.

I like the fact he has been preparing for this opportunity for a number of years. He has been very studious in his approach and now he has the chance to apply it. This to me clearly demonstrates a passion, drive and determination to become a successful coach/manager - hopefully that can be realised with us.

I can see the attraction based on interviews so in one way I will cut Rahic some slack. However, the real test will be the teams performance and results. I wish Collins and team all the best and hope for a long and successful partnership between everyone.

A joke? Perhaps to you Fordy but I would suggest it has been a questionable one from those looking in. We are far from a laughing stock.

How do you know the footballing world see the appointment has a joke?

It has not stopped the likes of Sean Scannell and Jack Payne wanting to come and play for him.

I'm on the fence at the moment. He really comes across well in interviews, and he is a refreshing change from the same old school managers that hop on and off the managerial merry go round. I just hope that his first Head Coaching role hasn't come at too big a football club for this level with high expectations amongst supporters, as always, and that he isn't out of his depth.

I truly hope that he can back his obvious confidence with actions now, and he appears to have been backed quite well in the transfer market so far, by the board.

I am more than willing to give him a good chance, and I for one, will not be hammering him if we are not top 6 come the end of September. I hope my fellow Bantams can do the same.

Good luck to him, I say, and lets hope he can prove the doubters in the rest of the footballing world wrong then

Am i missing something here, that interview is just a page filler, it doesn’t really tell us anything. Just another young manager like others trying to make his way. And like any other manager he will live and die by his results. I wish him good luck because hes gonna need it.

A "good start" doesn't necessarily mean the automatic spots though. It could simply mean being mid table or above and showing signs of the team gelling.

I think many refer to needing a good start as making sure we aren't anywhere near the relegation places to avoid even more pressure on the younger players and new management team.

Have a word Fordy, you’re so predictable.
You’ve slagged off basically every manager over the last 10 years. You’re like a stuck record and it’s getting boring.
