Love this move!

Shift Hornby on, I've no issue with Hornby, but he's never been happy playing second fiddle and that's a good attitude to have. Hope he goes somewhere and becomes number 1, because he's definitely good enough for this level (as was ROD).

Another coach in the building, and a good money saving move. We need footballing people, we need Bradford City people, and this ticks those boxes.

 

Really happy with this. I don’t think he’ll play much but he’s s great clubman, you could tell he and his family loved this club - remember him getting awkward flights back to play after Ireland - and I think this is a big signing for the dressing room.

we’ve a lot of 20-24 year olds. Col will be a father figure to the younger ones and set a big example. He ‘gets’ this club.

It looks like Harry Lewis will be first choice with Doyle perhaps on the bench as back-up.

You would imagine Hornby will be on his way somewhere else this summer now?

Nothing in this to get anybody excited but financially it looks to make great sense to cover 2 roles with 1 wage, providing Hornby moves on which I'm sure he will especially on the back of this which will no doubt push him even more towards the exit, this move frees up funds to make good use of in other areas. I still expect Lewis to be given first opportunity to make the No.1 shirt his own but feel much happier with an experienced steady pro we can turn to if he has a rough time and needs taking out the firing line for a while. So initial overall assessment is it looks a good sensible approach from the club, and we also get an added bonus of the shit storm from his wife we can look forward to this time next year.

 

Out on loan probably with a recall clause?

I dont see why not. Lewis and Doyle do for me. Emergency loan if 1 gets injured.

I believe that Colchester were interested in taking him back on a permanent deal Storck.

I haven't read anyone knocking it. It all seems to be very positive.
