The club has spunked all its money on MH and a load of newplayers in the hope of promotion. Everything else has been completely left to rot over the summer. VP to me feels like it’s on its last legs and basic things like customer parking have been neglected.

Yes the same, you effectively walk the distance of Midland road twice! My OH has a bad back and he can’t walk very far. We have been messed about on this. We will have to email the club and ask for money back if they can’t find a better parking spot than this. This is the second alternative to the Barracks which is what we thought we were getting. The first alternative is waste land which was fine for us. Then late Friday night we got told to go to the Sawmill. No idea what is happening and no explanation either. We walked further today than our normal spot off Manningham lane, but you have to get there for about 12:30pm. Not sure what we will do now.

I don’t mind paying for car parking but I don’t see why the club want to charge extra for cup game. This place is only for league games as well. They never used to do that. I think car parking is a service that the club should offer, but trying to raise extra cash is definitely off. You pay upfront as it is!

Nowadays I park around Sunbridge Road/City Road area. A bit further away from Dyson/Paradise Street, where I had parked for over 25 years. As I want to get to the M62, it is easy to get to Manchester Road-Mayo Avenue and onto the M606. Never had any problems in that general area. Just under a mile now, takes around 15 minutes to walk.

At one time you were allowed to park on Midland Road with the back end of your vehicle up to the wall, I noticed last Saturday they allowed cars to park on Midland Road bumper to bumper which drastically reduced the amount of cars you could get on that side of Midland Road.

that is to try and encourage people to walk on the pavements rather than the road due to risk to people walking on the road

yep so imagine how many more would be there if the pavement was covered.

best way would be to close Midland Road for an hour after the game

not sure the 100 people parked in the new car park
On the Sawmill or those parking on Midland Road would agree either with having to wait till gone 6pm before they could leave

The club sold 100 spaces and tried getting them on Sawmills. If the tip closes at 4, the road being closed between 5-6 wouldn’t matter to it. It would be like the away tickets, some fans ie those walking would be happy but some fans, those parking close to the ground would be upset

simple short term solution would be to get staff/players to park elsewhere and shuttle them to ground in minibus

It's not getting there thats a problem, it's finding a way out and back to your car in the pi55ing rain after a defeat that I dread...

Well by the sound of it when you get out of the ground in the pissing rain after a defeat you are stuck in the car park for near on an hour to compound that misery.

Got there early yesterday - around 2.00 pm
Plenty of spaces at the far end of the car park
    But what a dump
And what a walk to the stadium

I saw a post today on facebook that someone had their Land Rover Discovery stolen from Queens Road bridge last night.

It's amazing that for the police coverage given for football games that car crime is so rife. This has been an issue for years. It's not as bad as it used to be, there used to be several per game.

It really is a shame that it either costs a fortune to have sub par facilities or you risk your car being broken into when you attend a game.

I always park at Broadway now, however for those who aren't as mobile, it's not really an option.

last time I went in broadway it took forever to get out as you pay at the exit now, rather than machines.
Cineworld similar price/ location and loads quicker.

It’s hit and miss - sometimes it takes a while, other times you’re straight out. Been OK so far this season, but they’ve improved the road layout at the exit which helps. I’m not sure why some people get stuck at the barrier when paying though and then hold everyone up!
