Did anyone else on here have a rather unsatisfactory experience with the club car parking facilities today? Considering that it's something like £240 a year, at the very least I'd expect to have a guaranteed spot but to turn up at 2.20pm and find that I'm lucky to get the last spot before they started turning people away doesn't really fill me with confidence for the rest of the season, added to that, the pedestrian access to the car park was locked shut which adds about 300m to the walk back to the car which is an issue when the only reason we've paid to have club parking is because my dad can no longer walk long distances.

The club has spunked all its money on MH and a load of newplayers in the hope of promotion. Everything else has been completely left to rot over the summer. VP to me feels like it’s on its last legs and basic things like customer parking have been neglected.

Yes the same, you effectively walk the distance of Midland road twice! My OH has a bad back and he can’t walk very far. We have been messed about on this. We will have to email the club and ask for money back if they can’t find a better parking spot than this. This is the second alternative to the Barracks which is what we thought we were getting. The first alternative is waste land which was fine for us. Then late Friday night we got told to go to the Sawmill. No idea what is happening and no explanation either. We walked further today than our normal spot off Manningham lane, but you have to get there for about 12:30pm. Not sure what we will do now.

I've not renewed my parking spot on Burlington carpark this season and they rang me last week to say places still available. Very expensive though at £395 and what winds me up is they charge £5 extra for every cup game or friendly you wish to park in there too

I don’t mind paying for car parking but I don’t see why the club want to charge extra for cup game. This place is only for league games as well. They never used to do that. I think car parking is a service that the club should offer, but trying to raise extra cash is definitely off. You pay upfront as it is!

Same here, arrived 2.40 got told it was full and couldn't go in, we did, totally unacceptable, rather park in town and walk, e-mail requesting refund going in tomorrow...oh, and it was 5.30 before we got as far as Manningham lane after the match...

£395? You must have money to burn.
Unless people have mobility issues, i honestly don't understand why people won't just park in the centre and walk up.
I know Manningham Lane is hardly Knightsbridge, but paying £400 p/a for the sake of a 15 minute walk?
In fact you could park in the Broadway and jump in a taxi and it would still work out far cheaper.
    Just my opinion...

Street parking, near a pleasant pub, get an Uber even about £5.00-5.50 would cost less than these car parks!

My routine is either get the bus if i'm meeting mates, then go for a couple on North Parade before walking up to VP.
If i'm on my own i'll generally park in the Broadway (£2 on a weekend), get a bite to eat somewhere, then have a slow walk up to the ground.
I don't get people who turn up 2 1/2 hrs early too 'get a spot' near the ground.
You might as well park in town and go for a coffee somewhere rather than mull about the ground for 2 hours

Easy to organise for getting there but difficult for pick up after the game I would imagine...

Given that affiliation with First Bus, there would be brownie points all around to have park and ride links from Broadway and other parking zones. It was also ease congestion

I had it for my 94 year old dad who has mobility issues. Unfortunately, the whole matchday experience has become too much for him now, which is sad for him as he has been going for 88 years.

Back to parking on Canal Road area for us now as the rest of the family have no issue with walking up

Parking in general is always a problem at most grounds. Given our new place has very limited parking on site and it's a good 25-30 minute walk from the tube, train and buses, they run free "bubble buses" electric golf cart type things you see at airports from the station to stadium, for blue badge and seniors. They also drop you by the correct entrance for your ticket. I'm pretty sure the do the same from Pudding Mill Lane DLR station which is the nearest for the away sections.

Nowadays I park around Sunbridge Road/City Road area. A bit further away from Dyson/Paradise Street, where I had parked for over 25 years. As I want to get to the M62, it is easy to get to Manchester Road-Mayo Avenue and onto the M606. Never had any problems in that general area. Just under a mile now, takes around 15 minutes to walk.

Has anyone had a response from the club about the Midland Road parking. I wrote on Monday, but no response so far.

My Dad has had a response to his e-mail but there was no mention of any solution yet being in place or what might be done to rectify. I've not seen the e-mail so don't take this as gospel but the gist of it from what I was told was that the original site required some work to make it suitable (safety wise) for matchday parking but it became apparent late last week that this hadn't been done so they had to make a last minute decision to switch to the woodyard because it was the best available alternative. There wasn't an assessment available to say what the capacity was so they estimated 100 cars but in reality the max capacity is about 85 cars. They are aware of the situation and doing their best to work out a solution. There was no mention about the possibility of opening up the pedestrian access to make the walk shorter.

It was never going to be easy relocating all from the barracks although even that was oversold sometimes and tricky to get in to near K.O time, for me there's no point in paying all that if your spot isn't guaranteed...
