We've missed Clayton massively. Think results will improve once he's back in the team.

 

Lets hope he doesn't get picked out for a drugs test.

 

We didn't miss donaldson in the first half yesterday. We played it out from the back, had composure on the ball, controlled the midfield and scored a wonderful team goal. Second half when we lost the midfield, we lost all composure and resulted in hoofing it upfield. Vaughan didn't win much aerially and the ref stopped giving him decisions and therefore we missed donaldson's hold up play. If Bowyer can get us playing like we did in the first half on a more consistent basis then I don't think we'll miss donaldson too much, but that all depends on keeping Cooke, Pritchard and dare I say it, akpan fit. Because if we start having to rely on Devine and Anderson in midfield then we'll be going back to front more often and then we'll really miss donaldson.

 

Losing Pritchard showed just how important one player can be to the system that suits us best. First as comfortable as you like, second all over the place. Like watching two different teams.

 

Vaughan has to keep his temperament under control.

 

Devitt probably would have been the one to miss out if Oteh had have been fit yesterday. When all fit, should be Palmer, in fact if we have an option, I would be terminating his loan actually

 

Bad blow for us that. We really missed him today. Just wasnt sticking up front in that 2nd half. Vaughan put a right shift in, but not as effective overall as Donaldson playing up top on his own

 

Pritchard playing the central role is quickly becoming key for us, he was excellent first half.

 

Donaldsons injury will test the strength of the squad and its ability to adapt.

But the biggest test will be the resolve of some of the fanbase. A little patience and understanding of the situation will be needed but will it occur, from the likely suspects? The typical neurotic overreaction?

All guesswork on my part but imagine a points tally of 11 points from the next 7 games ( 2 months worth of games). That would sit us on 38 points from 21 games, an average of 1.8 points per game. Over 46 games, an accumulation of 83 points.

Get us over the white line?

Come on, Devitt, Palmer, Donaldson and Connolly would walk into most teams.

A little bit of give will be needed.

 

To an extent I feel performances will improve more. Our results ain't exactly shabby.

 

I would play McCartan just behind Doyle in a 4-4-1-1

 

Christ almighty, how is there even a debate about Omari fecking Patrick. The kid isn't good enough, and he's not even a kid anymore either, he's 22 years old and done nothing in the football league.

Gary Bowyer already has a striker who scored 23 goals in 22 games this season and renders him useless, so what on earth is bambi going to do?

What gets me is it's not just the injuries
it's the nature of them and time out! We

Did he say where he got the injury? Wondered if the foul on him at Morecambe was a bad one.

I remember you saying at the time the way Clayton was reacting to the challenge it didn't look good, two months is a tough call for the lad.
