The tempo was far to slow if you want to open up defences you have to move the ball quicker.

I don't think you can underestimate the impact of what happened in the 6th minute on the way we played for the rest of the game. I was shook up after it happened and found it hard to concentrate on the game so god only knows how hard it must have been out on the pitch. I think the lads deserve more credit than they are getting from some.

Barrow will be giddy after their win yesterday and that might be their downfall.

If we start like we did yesterday we have no chance. The balance of the team just wasn't there. They aren't bad players but you need to get the jigsaw pieces to fit cos that yesterday was poor. It reminded me of watching us a year or two back where we had no runners off the ball and its so easy to defend against.

I agree; they didn't move the ball quickly enough and that was very noticeable in the 2nd half when Donny were a man down. I was expecting more pace to be introduced once Donny had adopted their very defensive formation. Up against 2 defensive banks of four playing very deep, there was very little space left in which our attackers could operate! We were forced to play an almost pedestrian game which suited Donny's tactics. We needed pace to get around their 8 defenders and nobody could do that. We got the tactics severely wrong at that point.

It won't be the last time we see such tactics at VP. We need to learn from this.

It was evident after about 25 minutes what we needed to change but due to the injury to Osadebe the only creative player on the bench was Chapman who to be fair couldn't get into the game when he came on due to the slow pace we were passing at. Badly needed a Vernam or a Periera and i'm not sure we have that player available. Possibly a look to bring a loan player in?

Early goals at home are the key to stopping teams come with the attitude of spoiling tactics, we need to start quickly and get the first goal.

Chapman did his level best to join Osadebe on the injured list by sliding into a seat in the lower Kop,

mind you it was the fastest move any of our players made during the game and i am looking forward to seeing more of him- but on the pitch.

What made me laugh was the thick Bradford City fans laughing at the Donny keeper who kept kicking the ball out from goal kicks without understanding that was a tactic.

We were so slow on the ball that we were wasting our own time and didn’t really have runners to brake the lines. It was like you have the ball as you won’t do anything with it.

A fair amalgamation of what 99% of contributors believe there Roger. It’s eye opening to think Doncaster’s Director team were , on face value , embarrassed to face their hosts post match. As you say there is something seriously wrong from top and it seems the bottom of their club.

I wholeheartedly agree that Madden was extremely poor. I can’t make my mind up what he was trying to achieve, it certainly wasn’t his application of the new directive either in spirit or enforcement. He somehow tried to make outsiders believe he was somehow “ impartial “ , so far in as much he dithered and dallied decisions and boy did they play on it. The Tomlin farce was frankly that. If he had clamped down on their antics from minute 6, there would have been a completely different tone to the game, because they wouldn’t have had the freedom to behave like they did. The 6 minute yellow card, cop out, guided and supported their behaviour for the remaining 100 mins of stop/ start play.
Doncaster fans on their forum seemed to somehow believe shit house play by opponents was something that got them relegated last season……so it’s for them a lesson learned…They will do the same. Awful , awful stuff to watch, inadvertently supported by a weak referee.

What annoyed me more was the morons behind the goal who kept throwing objects at him. Stupid in itself, but gave him tge perfect excuse to waste more time by clearing them away.

I think thats a poor excuse and pretty much bollocks. A defeatist attitude.

L2 is reknown for a high turnover of players every summer. Our club is no different to those before us. Promotion is the aim this term and if they are thinking of anything else then id be very surprised.

Walsall did ok yesterday....look at their turnover of players. Some of our own fans seem to be gloating and revelling in the fact we didnt win.

Sadly one’s at Lincoln and the other at Luton. I expect Chapman to be first choice from now on. I was disappointed with the general movement from our forwards. I’ve seen Angol doing better. Smallwood looked to be getting frustrated. I hope it doesn’t end up in long aimless punts forward like I saw a few times yesterday.

Its been completely civil up until now. Nobody has said anything offensive to me and I haven't been condescending / patronising / offensive. Why can't you just disagree with me without resorting to being petty. We're discussing whether or not an incident is a red card. There's no need for you to take this tone.

does anyone think we might see 4-4-2 or is it too archaic?

it would address our lack of pace wide and also the fact we don’t have an A1 CDM partner for Smallwood.

Lewis; Ridehalgh/Foulds, Crichlow, Platt/timi, Halliday/Hendrie; Chapman, Smallwood, Walker, new RW (Dion); Cook/Harratt/Angol, Oliver.

That would be better balanced than yesterday and inject more pace and guile out wide.

To be fair I agree with most of this.

    Red Card -100%
Bradford City need to get use to teams coming to VP with them kind of tactics.

I thought the Donny keeper kicking it out all the time was more of a reflection on us being poor and unable to do anything with the ball

How about Bradford City idiots throwing things at the Donny keeper?

Think what was clear on Saturday is Bradford City need to look and concentrate on themselves!

The unfortunate thing is Doncaster we’re badly hit by injuries and for all we rightly claim about a rubbish referee and dark art tactics they will be very happy with a point.
With th injury which was heartbreaking for the lad and the performance it was a disappointing day

I didn’t see any long punts forward in fact I think there was a case for mixing it up a bit. The slow side to side passing in our own half was in my opinion totally ineffective
