We needed the urgency we had in the last 10 minutes earlier in the match

I do think Odasebe's injury affected the players a bit and they lost their way in the first half.

 

Said it before there aren't half some miserable gits on here!

 

I remember when we played Plymouth when we were promoted, Jake Egan got a leg brake and it totally took the momentum out of the game. We did win 1-0 though.

 

Crichlow man of the match eh...

And to think some were saying "let's play Songo'o" and "we don't need a ball playing centre half for this match"

Donny reminded me of a really baba Ronnie Moore , Tranmere side that came to us a while ago……

 

I was really enjoying that until Osadebe's awful injury. We were looking great until that.
Ref too quick to give a yellow.
Doncaster were a ghastly team to watch, the ref did not help at all.
Tomlin was an idiot, as was Harratt. He is a bit of a hothead but young.
Crichlow and Smallwood impressed.
We lost focus after Osadebe went off and pace too.
Frustrating watch.

My take on the game

The challenge on Osadebe was a red. It was high an out of control. I saw it from the main stand, not sure how the ref or the linesman on that side missed it. Its a leg breaker. You could see it based on the city players reactions as to how bad it is. Shit Scottish refs once again, rushing into a decision rather than thinking things through

I think that played a hand in the Tomlin sending off. The ref knew he fecked up an knew he owed us one. Tomlin is a prat. I feel like he couldn’t be arsed an gave in. Shocking attitude.

Harratt was sent off at the end. Not sure how. The ref is just a complete winner

The tactics : Poor. Way too narrow. Changes made way too late. No wingers till the 60th minute is a shocker. Too lethargic as well, no urgency in the team

Lewis - 8 - commanded the box well. fantastic save from the donny corner
Halliday - 5 - Poor. Off the pace. Might be due to match fitness
Platt - 7 - Solid. No Complaints
Crichlow - 8 - Fantastic. MOTM.
Ridehalgh - 7 - Grew into the game. Did well in the second half
East - 7 - Tidy player, needs to be more brave an get on the ball more
Sutton - 5 - Didn’t do much
Smallwood - 7 - Slow but Steady. Kept us ticking
Walker - 6 - Was okay in spells but the middle of the pitch was too congested
Angol - 6 - Decent. Good link up play with Oliver
Oliver - 6 - Needs more match fitness but was a real handful

It is what it is, we should of won. But lesson learnt, Clean sheet kept. Onto next week

No they took him off for his own protection bad challenge, I said to the guy sat next to me he'll only get a yellow as it was too early in the game for a red

They guy who does atrocious tackle gets yellow and no ban.

Why it's assumed as ref only gave a yellow this is right and can't be challenged or banned

 

I’m absolutely fuming after that!!!! Aside from the horror tackle we simply didn’t do enough in the game to deserve winning it.
Yes Donny were time wasting but why do we persist with the slow build ups, pandering to let Donny stifle things.
And I’m sorry but Oliver was poor today and will quickly become focus for boo boys if he carries on like that.

 

Do not underestimate mentally how much thst broken leg affects things. You are on a roll, then that happens. It sucks everything out, then the opp just slow it down. Don't be too quick to judge

 

I agree it must have looked bad as Crichlow had a look and pulled his shirt over his head and a couple of players went over to console him, having said that he was MOTM.
Overall we let Doncasters tactics spoil the game and all though we got plenty of crosses etc into the box many were hit and hope ball, Smallwood was unluck with his free kick that hit the outside of thd post with the keeper well beaten.

 

Hugely frustrating. Our play was too congested, no width, or penetration at all. Not good enough.
