Well done to the Doncaster fans - 1900 ish is fantastic support - made for a great atmosphere pre-game.
sadly that emotion spilled into the challenge that has broken Osadebe’s leg. Poor lad. You knew it was bad from the second he went down and others were calling the dug out. Thoughts with him tonight as that’s a horror injury.
Think Donny will be top seven and it wasn’t a bad point. The break killed the mood and first half was a slog.
Fat, lazy Tomlin is an utter disgrace to the game. Pathetic antics. Deserved to go. Donny parked the bus and dug in thereon in like anyone else would.
Our gameplan seemed to be cross to Oliver and hope for the best, but Donny’s physical CBs dealt with him well.
We looked really solid. Crichlow in particular was impressive. Lewis’ save in bottom corner second half was cracking.
offensively we still look limited with this set up with one up top. Chapman will hopefully start next week. Not sure If East and Sutton will be starters long term.
Halliday saw a lot of the ball. Think Hendrie’s crossing is marginally better though. That said, he looked perfectly solid at RB.
Smallwood kept it simple and hit the post with a nice free kick. Walker tried but they were tough to break down.
At least we didn’t lose like Stockport and Mansfield, but we need to be better. I think we will be

Yesterday was one crazy afternoon.
Certainly a match day memory but for all the wrong reasons.
Interpretation and application of the laws of football ruined by one individual in my opinion. -

19,300 came to watch a game of football, and they were subjected to the stop start game that no one wanted to witness unless you are a Doncaster fan, who were celebrating their 0-0 victory at the end frustrations boiled over, and that was entirely the responsibility of the ref not doing his job. Doncaster manager can also take responsibility, to send a team out to deliberately defend with every single player for 90 minutes is a disgraceful way to manage a team. The EFL need to investigate this match, they can then show new recruits how not to referee a game.
Ravencliffe definitely went through our Player resulting in a double break. The tackle was reckless and dangerous. He should have been walking to the dressing rather than the subs bench. Their manager knew they had dodged a bullet hence why they took him off.
All in all a very frustrating game, the centre half pairing looked good. We were a little bit slow, but that will come, I still think we need a fast winger as an option..
It was awful watching Emmanuel leaving the field like that, he is a great character in the team and had already made some promising runs. We will miss him while he recovers..
I suppose we will have to get used to teams who come to thwart us rather than trying to outplay us, so they had better get ready. Onwards and upwards.JonButterfield, Dubois, Petrov and 3 others like this. -
I wholeheartedly agree that Madden was extremely poor. I can’t make my mind up what he was trying to achieve, it certainly wasn’t his application of the new directive either in spirit or enforcement. He somehow tried to make outsiders believe he was somehow “ impartial “ , so far in as much he dithered and dallied decisions and boy did they play on it. The Tomlin farce was frankly that. If he had clamped down on their antics from minute 6, there would have been a completely different tone to the game, because they wouldn’t have had the freedom to behave like they did. The 6 minute yellow card, cop out, guided and supported their behaviour for the remaining 100 mins of stop/ start play.
Doncaster fans on their forum seemed to somehow believe shit house play by opponents was something that got them relegated last season……so it’s for them a lesson learned…They will do the same. Awful , awful stuff to watch, inadvertently supported by a weak referee.Jayteebee, AngryGaz, Lancashire Bantam and 3 others like this. -
Almost every time a Doncaster player went down on Saturday they were clutching their head, forcing the ref to stop the game. I don't know how refs are supposed to deal with that given the current rulings but something needs to be done as Saturday was a mockery of a football match.

Unfortunately I've exhausted all the potential excuses and don't have enough friends to risk losing two so will have to attend. Plus I've got to do a speech as "surrogate father"/ punk & post punk musical mentor & guru to the bride.
I did consider "faking" a covid test and going on the sly, but despite what they say on the internet, lemon juice, orange juice, coca cola etc don't do that.
My excuse that I had to attend a re-enactment of siege of Vicksburg didn't cut the mustard either.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand... -

After years of going to matches by train, I've switched to my EV this season (after a couple of trial runs last season).
Nice easy run up this morning and I'm now parked up on Forster Square retail car park (I've paid by app to park beyond the usual 3 hour maximum).
No pre-match beers, but I've got a fridge full waiting back home.
I've also switched stands this season, from the Bantams Bar to the main stand, so it's all change for me.
Just need a win to take home with me.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...Stoneski, Keefly Bantam, Botswana Bantam and 2 others like this. -
