How would this fit in with the new Broadcasting rights? To run in parallel , to be totally independant of? If it gives us more income in a profitable way then why not, then it has to be good news.

Very interesting and presuming it’s a subscription service I’ll certainly sign up for the season and give it a go, hopefully we can add content from just the generic stuff like interviews we usually get with iFollow.

I liked the Derby County home TV, they had ppl to interview before the match, not sure about after, but that sort of thing.

We can’t the basics right at this club, sort them first.

Not to bring facilities into this chat as it has been done to death but we really need to sort the basics out at the club before anything else, it’s expensive to do because of pure neglect. To illustrate my point around us not meeting the basics, GA talked around off field needing to be improved over the summer he referenced changing rooms.

That’s a basic commodity, comes before anything else and should be done annually.

In any business you introduce profitability/ income improvements FIRST , profits pay for the basics thereafter. If TV brings in profits rather than a potentially loss making ( compared to the previous income levels) TV scheme then that makes great business sense.

Turn it on its head, whereby all available investment is spent on upgrading the dressing rooms…….You are left with the same TV deal which we have already identified would lose us revenue but the dressing rooms have a fresh coat of paint and new showers.

    Think about it.

Totally disagree. New players will sign if when they are shown the facilities they look good and feel good, so money spent on a dressing room upgrade is essential. They won't sign because we have an all singing, all dancing TV channel that adds a few quid to the bottom line each year.

Football is totally unlike any business, and that is partly why Sparks totally fails at the football side of things.

Good point. The difference between the posh seats and the basics is stark. Such as running hot water in the men’s. Urine on the floor, dirty bowls in both the men’s and the women toilets. I guess it is the same in the Kop and Midland Road. For me this should be right at the top of the things to do both for the players and supporters. One of the reasons I moved upstairs. I think we should do both the TV and upgrade the facilities.

That’s fine however that’s similar to using the “ We don’t own the training ground” type narrative, which is patent nonsense. If they were paying me £3k a week and a new lick of paint and tiling for the dressing room or £2.5 grand a week with rebuilding the entire dressing room complex …..You can only fit so much in a shoebox, I’d ask the mortgage lender and we all know the answer USG. Yes it helps of course but not to the extent using player recruitment as a barrier. I’m talking pure financials.
If the owner is as good as is word then perhaps we might get both.

Or knowing full well we will have a lucrative income scheme with the TV deal Mr Rupp puts his hands in his pocket and foots the bill for both at the same time. For me Mr Rupp owes this club some TLC.

I'd imagine it'll be a replacement for iFollow but what it will mean is on matchday we have control over the content rather than the generic iFollow format. It should mean we can have our own advertisers and can continue the coverage after the full time whistle.
Radio Leeds signed a 2 year deal last summer which included iFollow commentary so would assume that will move over for 24/25 season then from that we can either do it ourselves or let them continue.

I totally get your point but I suspect it would be done on the cheap as most things are with us.

Get the basics right make it a really professional environment and am certain we would see benefits. Then look to diversify into different things.

I have my doubts about this. The replacement for iFollow TV broadcasts in the domestic market is the new Sky deal which overall is very attractive for the EFL. Sky will have the exclusive right to broadcast EFL games live and even then all games will remain subject to the 3pm rule on Saturdays. The club won't have much room for manoeuvre even if they can negotiate a broadcast deal with Sky and the EFL.

It's interesting to see that the information about the 'new' City TV station hasn't come from the club itself.
