Fresh off the plane and back in the UK for only the second time since Covid, and the first time during the football season so looking forward to my first City game since Walsall at home in 2018, on Saturday.

It’ll be my lad’s first ever football match too, so exiting times all round. I was thinking of taking him to watch City train on Thursday or Friday, but can we just rock up or are the pitches blocked from view? I assume we’re still at Woodhouse Grove?

Either way, I hope it’s a good one on Saturday, for all our sakes!!

    Thanks!

We train at a School, so you will need DBS clearance to gain access :)

Yes, they still train at Woodhouse Grove and yes you can just park in the public car park and watch if they are on the first pitches. Not sure on which days though

Just rock up. Sometimes they train on the pitch as you drive in, which makes it easy

When I've been, it's generally been the pitch at the back of the school. Either, park in the car park as you drive in and walk at the side of the river and it'll bring you to the training pitch (you'll hear the noise) or, drive in and take the narrow road that leads to the school. Park in their car park. You'll see the artificial pitch, with a chain link fence round it, follow it round to the left and you'll find the other training pitch.

Sometimes I've been challenged in the car park ( child protection) so I normally take the riverside route.

Hopefully they will be on the near pitch ether Thursday or Friday, if not see if the groundsmen are about and they'll tell you if there round on the back pitches as @King Cole@King Cole says its a fair old trek, or riskm parking in the car park near the changing rooms but there are warning signs and you may get challenged.
