Brings nothing to the party either end of the pitch. Underwhelmed, would've much rather him be moved on. Absolute overkill in that Midfield.

 

It can only mean akpan, anderson, devine are moving on surely? Otherwise why waste money on another squad player which could've been spent elsewhere?

 

Those 3 definitely need to move on now. For the sake of their careers, add Patrick to that list. We're carrying a lot of chaff on our books, this is Bowyers 2nd window of the 3 he said hed need. I think we'll see a bit of augmentation in the coming weeks

 

No brainer for me, he's done whats asked of him since he's come in. Been close to scoring a couple of times and been asked to play different roles.

 

Agree @RogeredTart, of those quoted above he likes to drive forward and like you said should have had a couple of goals.

 

Do wonder if that was the reasoning behind bringing him in on a short term deal - see how he does and if he can cover a few roles successfully, sign him for longer and move some of the others on. Hope this was the plan and we will now see the likes of Akpan and Anderson leaving and Palmer ending his loan spell with us.

 

He’s not exactly set the world on fire but I remember saying at the time that as long as he’s better than the likes of Devine, Anderson, Akpan etc, which he is, then he’s worth his place in the squad.

 

Maybe Palmer or Cooke may go back, not sure. Could see the likes of Akpan, Anderson and Devine going out on loan if someone saw a need for them in their squad, easier said than done though. With Doyle back is there a need for Oteh? Might be a player or two that Bowyer fancies on loan that we haven't heard about?

 

Palmer can go back for me think Taylor's a better option to have.like to keep cooke. Akpan anderson and Devine need shipping out.

Just listened to Bowyer's press conference he is trying to arrange a practice match next week to give Devitt a run out. Pritchard should be back in time for the Scunthorpe game.

 

Hard to just get rid of people mid-season, especially at this level. You have to pay contracts off or let them run, and by letting them run you still have a member of staff available should they be required.

I don’t expect many players to leave in January, if any, and the real reshuffle will happen at the end of the season.

 

I suspect you're right but it'd be nice to see 1 or 2 out of the door and a couple come in to help the push. A natural left winger and a proper attacking midfielder would do nicely
