There will still be many people on here that are unaware of the allegation. What you have to remember is that it is just that, it's an allegation, nothing is proven and, as far as I'm aware, charges are yet to be brought.

From my understanding, he's been released on bail pending further enquiries. People need to be extremely careful about what they say on here though. You cannot compare it to Adam Johnson or Ched Evans, those were national headlines, everybody was talking about it.

Comments on here will be read by the club and probably the player himself, if anything untoward is said, anything libellous, then that person and the site is open to getting sued.

 

You be also got to understand libel and defamation of character.

Many people are aware of the allegation, but you'd be stupid to post it. If you were to post it, and that allegation was never proven (i.e. the player was never charged). Posting that allegation can be viewed as defamation as it could damage the reputation of the player. At this moment in time the player has a clean reputation, he's been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault, the details of such will only be made public if he's charged.

This is why previous threads have been locked, not only to protect the site but to also protect anyone from getting themselves into trouble.
