Is he a target man type?

i see he’s been at Walsall

 

Decent addition to squad. He will give us something different up front to Cook and Angol.

I seem to recall us being linked a few years ago?

 

He's scored 46 goals in 226 games , a meh signing this one.

 

Decent squad addition I suppose. Doesnt get the pulse racing but looks like Cook is our main man this term.

Its a competent body and we have hit that magic 24. Probably 1 or 2 more changes though.

 

5 ft 11 according to Wikipedia. Plenty of experience in the lower leagues, Adams will know him and what he brings to the club.

Looks a solid footballer to back up our striking options. I would rather have that than some callow youth player with negligible experience from an under 23 squad.

We've certainly changed our approach this season.

As Idle says, he gives us another option up front but not really one to get the juices flowing.

 

Club article just put up describes him as ‘direct’

 

I think we've got more to come. Usually at the end of one of those articles, they would say "Lavery will wear the vacant number 10 shirt for the 2021/22 season" and yet there is no mention of it... So I'm thinking more to come.

 

City are saving it for the return of Billy Clarke.

 

Adams says he possesses traits that will help us and complement what we already have.

Any ideas what his strengths are?

 

Ya think? That would take us to 8 forwards if another one. I dont see how that fits into 3 on a match day with 2/3 on the bench.

Crankshaw or Vernan to depart?!

 

Evans I hope ,he's done nothing this preseason and just taking up a spot in the squad.

 

To be honest, that’s the first Adams signing I am underwhelmed with.

 

I suppose that's only correct if you label every attacking option as a forward though.

If you split them down until those that can play the lone striking role competently the number obviously reduces to 2 or maybe 3 with Lavery.

I agree that I don't see us bringing in another but by the same token I'm still not sure we've covered Cooks role adequately enough.

 

I was underwhelmed with Angol...but pleasently surprised so far.

 

If he is playing one up top then id say 3 is enough for this level. I think Lavery was brought in as he offers something different and isnt a target man. We can shake things up as we dont want to be too predictable. If Lavery isnt competent enough on his own can always play him with Angol/Eisa/Vernan. They can play through the middle too.

Anything else can be addressed in January anyway. Id say its enough for 4 months of football.
