i dont think we will stay up this season no matter who we bring in in january this team just dont have the ability to turn this shit show around. we have been told countless times we will be ready for the transfer window yet we have somehow ended up with probably the worst team we have ever had and a management team who have no idea how to get a team to perform at any decent level, the biggest worry is IF the club will survive relegation

So 28 professionals on the wage bill.
I anticipate that Anthony O’Connor and Clayton Donaldson will be on a higher salary. With other senior professionals such as Billy Clarke, Lee Novak Gareth Evans and Richard O’Donnell being on slightly higher wages.
Using a simple equation of £1500000 divided by 28 professionals equals £53,571 each. Clearly this will not happen. So if the top two earners are on circa £80,000 a year (just over £1,500 a week). The next four on £67,500, then that leaves a budget of £1,070,000. Given some of the overblown comments about footballers salaries on here and elsewhere, if we say the average across the remaining 12 senior professionals is £1,000 a week (£52,000 per annum), then that is a further £624,000. Elliot Watt although under the seniors age, has been recruited from a Premiership club, so a salary somewhere between, say £36,000. If we anticipate that the seven academy players are on £25,000 each and that Samuels and Hossanah cost us £25,000 for our contribution to their wages, then I think that is a fair stab at the breakdown (happy for someone ‘in the know’ to come up with a different formula). So the sums would work out with about £200,000 to spend.
We have to remember that the salary cap includes things like appearance money, win bonus (we will be saving a lot there), goal/assist bonus, etc so that could reduce the sum even further. -
I think we need a minimum 4 players in the window.I would prefer
9/10 but you can't have everything. -
Still costing the club money but not impacting on the salary cap -
Looking at the EFL site, under the cap rules it says there are 22 players allowed to be registered. Anyone under the age of 21 on July 1st wont have to be registered. Think that leaves us with 19 registered players, so 3 guys over 21. For next season (if we survive), the registration rules only allow 20 players to be registered but still will registered anyone signed before July 30th 2020 to count as £1,000 against the cap.
Our over 21's: O'Donnell (32), Hosannah (21 - before July), Longridge (25), Paudie (23), BRE (29), A O'Connor (28), Pritchard (28), Cooke (23), Novak (32), Donaldson (36), Ismail (26), Hornby (25), French (21 - before July), Clarke (32), Evans (32), Sutton (23), Wood (24), Guthrie (27), DMH (23) currently make up our registered players.
Trying to find it but from an old WOAP article or maybe even a T&A article after the window shut, I'm sure they said it's around 350-400K left in the budget. Worth remembering that transfer fees, agent fees and signing on fees aren't included in the cap but bonuses are. Either way, this squad needs probably 4 or 5 quality players to drag us out the dirt, so either we luck out with a youth loanee who is actually good, or we need to lose a handful of these players but i cant see many taking a punt on our trash. -
