Looks like they’ve sold about 50 tickets.
Just another tinpot club who had ambitions of getting into the league and now they are here can’t even sell a decent amount of tickets for what is probably the biggest away day of their season.
Sooner we are out of this league the better.

They are here on merit, just as we are. Still some people accept the gubbins we are served up and make excuse for the man at the top being clueless in changing it.

100% as a club they are here on merit as are the other tinpot outfits like Harrogate and Salford but surely the game is about the fans and if your fanbase simply aren’t interested then why are you bothering?
Unless…….its all about the money and the fans don’t matter.

Where have you been for the 25 years? It has been all about the money since Sky took control of PL football.

Bromley fans are very excited and may have to book 4 Ubers;)

You have to ask yourself, why are teams like that moving up the leagues with limited resources but seem to be run in a decent way to create success, where as we are run like a clown show. Burton, Stevenage, Crawley, Cambridge, Shrewsbury, Northampton, etc are all holding their own in the league above with 1/3 of the gates we get. Maybe they just don't think that someone who's experience came from running a twitter account and was hand pick by Julian Rhodes because he happened to be the last person to make him a coffee isn't the way forward to run a multi million pound sports company.

I hear what you’re saying but if we took the claret and amber tinted glasses off for a second, maybe we have even more limited resources than they do despite having triple their crowds we might have quadruple their costs and until the VP noose is removed from the budget then we are likely in a worse financial position than Bromley etc.

my point of this thread though was the lack of interest from Bromley fans despite it being their maiden voyage in the EFL.
Speaking from a personal perspective if I was a Bromley fan I’d be excited to go to as many away games as I could and I couldn’t get to them all then Bradford away would be one of the first I’d look for in the fixture list.

The last set of accounts which showed a P&L attached had land and building leases at £434k for a year. Our turnover in 2023 was £8.5m. This building costs is within Admin expenses which totalled £1.5m overall. There is a stadium cost section saying £0.5m which is a bit vague, but you would guess if we owned the stadium or not these costs would exists.

So what you are pointing to is £434k cost of a £8.5m income as the VP noose that is holding us back. I don't agree especially when we are being overtaken by clubs with much smaller budgets however they are functioning to get the best out what they have got. For example signing players on 3 year deals that barely play so at best all we can do is try ship them out on loan.

Well you’re going off topic a bit here but just to point out that turnover is not profit.

I know what turnover is, profit is irrelevant. If you have £8.5m coming in, you can have £8.5m going out. I doubt many clubs in our league see a fraction of that money.

The only figure the fans care about is how much of that income can be spent on players that we pay to see entertain us.
Everything else is irrelevant to us.
What if other clubs have a bigger playing budget because their other costs are lower?
Of course we’d all love our owner to pump in excess millions like Wrexham and Salford but it simply isn’t going to happen is it?
We have to spend our money in the right places.
Andy Cook costs us £250k a year.
With no VP rent to pay what effect does that have on playing budget?
Why don’t the supporters groups approach Gibb and ask how much it would cost the fans to buy back the stadium with an assumption we’d want nothing back in return except to secure the home of Bradford City and allow the club to play there rent free.

I've just pointed out the £434k you say is the noose out of £8.5m income is what you seen as holding us back? As for pumping millions into the club, thats a distraction, Crawley, Carlisle, Northampton, Stevenage, Forest Green, Exeter, Bristol Rovers, Port Vale have all been promoted in recent years without spending millions.

I honestly believe that with people capable at the club we wouldn't be spending years in the basement. Still at least we aren't Bury.....

Doubt it. Their biggest game is probably Wimbledon and they won the home match last Saturday.

Well our most recent successes and probably the most famous have come with owners of Geoff Richmond , Julian Rhodes and Mark Lawn.
Many people on here didn’t like either of them. Careful what you wish for.

Nailed on. And then what for us?
    Booing?
    Sack manager?
    Protests ?
    Blame owner?
    Blame poor pre-season?
    All of the above ?
