Thats way more complicated for a football forum. But its not because police are institutionally racist against black people thats a lazy incorrect assumption made to suit a driven agenda.

    Sorry Hoochy, missed this bit.

I don't know. Theres a lot of potential reasons quoted for it but it's probably complex. Unconscious (or even conscious in some instances) probably plays a significant role.

Similarly I'd wonder why more men are stopped than women or whey under 30s are more like to be stopped than over 30s?

I'd like to think the police were acting on genuine information, all the coppers i know would do. Thats not to say there aren't corrupt police officers, but i think we're making too much out of a routine stop due to wahts happened over the past few months. It is tough for the police these days, i watched a video today of tow met officers wrestling with a black guy on the floor. One had control of the assailant with a knee on his head, turns out the guy had been in posession of a knife and had a long list of violent crimes to his name having served significant prison time. if you carry a knife with potential to harm and kill all bets are off, you can stick two knees on their neck for all i care.

I can just picture the hoodlums of Bradford cruising round Thronton Road looking for a Japanese fish bar. I think you mean Shisha bar.

I was involved in a Road Traffic Accident.

A car ran into the back of mine.

    I suffered some personal injury.

It was on the way home from work.

My employers did not take legal action (although I was absent from work for a few days).

My Union fought the case for me, and I subsequently gained some compensation.

Again I struggle to see what BRE's incident is to do do with City.

He was not injured, will not miss work as a result of this, was not travelling to, from, or in the course of his work.

The cost of a legal firm taking action will not be cheap. The average cost is in excess of £200 per hour! https://www.unbiased.co.uk/life/get-smart/how-much-does-a-solicitor-cost
Just for a consultation, with all the time making arrangements, communication with the Police/BRE,reading the paperwork, the actual interview (possibly a seperate one for his girlfriend), checking case law and legislation, and writing up the advice and finally billing, will take several hours. If it goes beyond that then the meter really is running!

Just a quick reminder, solicitors have to run a building, pay business support staff, insurance, training, pay tax/business rates before the actual solicitor gets any money.

Well having caught up and read all the posts in this thread, mountain and molehill come to mind. He's a poor footballer with a large ego. If he was paid what he's worth he wouldn't of had that problem in a second hand Ford Fiesta.

Should be charged for lying to police - no way in the world can that be described as a 'nice car'.

because they had tasers? Watching stuff on TV unarmed, but with tasers, cops seem to stop cars regularly that have such markers on

Irrelevant. People complain about speeding and parking fines, and when service is poor, or when food is late, or when something appears on TV.

I think being put in handcuffs and treated like a criminal over a mistake is unfortunate, and calmer heads will prevail in time, but in the heat of the moment?

Criticising BRE for his reaction or for sharing to social media is far pettier than anything he or his partner have done here. They were wronged.

Hi. I can't actually work out what you are saying here.
People complain - yep I get that. Are you saying its right or wrong?
Handcuffs over a mistake. Yep I get that. Calmer heads will prevail in time, but in the heat of the moment? I don't understand. Do you mean BRE's reaction or the police?
Criticising his reaction. Ok. They were wronged. Ok - so you are saying the police are totally in the wrong for the way they handled this?

Just to stress - I am not arguing, or having a go. I am just trying to work out your reply.

I'm saying BRE's reaction is absolutely understandable, pretty normal, and in no way out of order - in the heat of the moment.

But he probably will cool it in a day or two.

Thought it’d be obvious but okay I’ll spell it out.

The car and plates should have had a full check from the dealership before being sold, the fact this has happened tells me that they didn’t bother to or they could have informed the police themselves before selling the car onto someone.

Is it that unusual? I'm not sure of the protocols but I haven't heard of that many vehicles being pulled over by armed police just because of a tag, its normally more strategic and targeted when that happens isn't it?

On a side note if it as actually got that sort of tag on there BRE will want it taking off otherwise the poor fella is going to be continually going though that!

I've no idea whether it's unusual or not and I'm not familiar with police protocols. But common sense suggests that if there is even a possibility of an armed occupant in a car tagged as being linked to firearms, PC Plod with a taser shouldn't be risking his own life. If all of this is as reported, leave it to the people who are trained and armed for this kind of thing.

I’m not sure on your first point tbf, however when the dealership bought the car(presuming it was second hand) then checks should have been done. All I know is if I bought a car from someone like JCT 600 and got stopped only 3 weeks later for something like this I’d be going to see them about it, as I hope he will.
