Yes it is a real problem for the City of Bradford because when the areas you mention were added to Bradford they each had councillors that when added to Bradfords meant the districts were able to outnumber the old Bradford area in some cases and vote most of the money out to the outlying districts which meant that they got better services and improvements while the old City area got very little ending up the sh*thole it is now.

 

I vote we all go take a piss in the lido. That’ll show the posh knobs.

I don't think the added districts could out vote the old Bradford as the districts only comprise of 11 wards out of 30. Those 11 being Craven, Ilkley, Wharfedale, Keighley East,West,Central, Worth Valley, Bingley, Bingley Rural, Shipley and finally Baildon.

 

OK, the truth of Bradford right now:

Refugees/homeless/ migrants etc in London or the south the London council automatically just ship them up to Bradford. Instead of Bradford council saying no and ship them back they keep them.

The above is having a massive knock on effect because Bradford is FULL. Believe it or not house prices are going up in Bradford and wants happening is dodgy land lords are buying the houses are putting these people up that Bradford council want to home but they might be about 4/5 families in a house.

Rats are increasing in Bradford because these house are shite and not looked after.

Schools are becoming over run because Bradford is FULL. The schools can’t cope and all the schools are becoming utter shite. Even the private schools.

Now how does the above effect Bradford City well the diversity of Bradford isn’t improving the economy of Bradford and they might be about 500k people in the City but a low percentage will be Bradford City fans or care about the club.

So, when many got fooled with Boris saying he cares about the north. Does he fu@k. He cares are shipping the unwanted up to the north and make it a shite hole. People need to start engaging their brain.

People of Bradford need to start demanding better. Stop being so passive to everything.

 

Bollocks. You want to see homeless then go to Manchester. It's absolutely crawling with them, as are Bath, Chester & York

 

Thats a massive oversimplification Fordy. The council and those that run this city have let it fall into shambolic state over the last 20 years. Leeds is 7 or 8 miles away and the difference between the 2 cities couldn't be any more stark.

Bradford is being left to rot, and as soon as my son finishes school in 4 years, we're off.

 

I was thinking more of the city centres, but I take the point. Leeds has some shit hole zones too.

 

City centre -yes its a million miles ahead of Bradford- as is much of the rest of the UK except Castleford.

Sadly, we live in a world where the megarich do everything possible to make themselves ever richer and the problems of poverty and homelessness get increasingly worse everywhere in the world. Who knows what the consequences will eventually be, but I guess that dramatic developments will come sooner or later.
About ten years ago I worked with a bloke from Stoke whose brother worked in the Home Office. His brother told him that there were three places which were deemed so desperate that large numbers of immigrants were dumped there on the basis that they couldn't possibly make things any worse so probably wouldn't be noticed. Those places were Stoke, Bradford and Middlesborough.

 

These are facts mate.

You put your head in the sand all you want. I don’t live in Bradford but Bradford Council are taking the p&ss out you people that leave there.
