Topless DJ was my yoof.

 

I went in at the same age, and knew EXACTLY where to look !!

 

The Bradfordian was better quality. "F*nny By Gaslight" it was called.

 

Big hotel opposite Manningham Park gates , forgot its name ? Only place open when we played Leeds once . Carlton on Queen's Rd . Two or three we went in on Lumb Lane , Percy etc

Modern times . It was 10 p when I used to go. Never paid a penny to get in . Knew the doormen well . Louis/ Paul etc Manningham mates !

Crikey it must be 40 years since I last saw him , what a small world . The Belle Vue and Spotted House was my parents night out in the 50’s, so quite an emotional tie with the place in some respects.

We went to his 80th birthday the other year at the central division up Manchester Road. He is still sharp as a tack but has unfortunately had to have both legs amputated. Still loves a flutter on the nags though
