I think that was the original plan but I now think NEC and council have fallen out and all bets are off as they squabble and bicker whilst arranging their divorce

I reckon if they do pull out/have pulled out a new operating partner won't be too hard to find but the clock's ticking if they want it open for 2025.Hulmebantam and Storck like this. -

Look North were claiming that an anonymous “council officer” had e-mailed them and claimed that the council were covering up the fact that NEC group have pulled out of the Bradford Live project.

Bradford has a GVA worth nearly 12 billion pounds.
Twice the size of places like Bolton, Hull, Brighton, Leicester, Southampton, Sunderland and above cities like Nottingham, yet the money made in the city disappears into nothing.
Said places like Bolton and Hull and some of the above have had council funded or part council funded stadiums built in the last 30 years which have helped the local Communities and sports clubs thrive.
I've seen Coldplay at Bolton's ground, my missus went to the Stadium of light to see Beyonce.
All those teams above play host to international football matches at all levels and other international sporting events.
With regards the music concerts, people attending and spending money in the surrounding areas.
With the Bradford Live opening, and other established venues like St Georges and The Alhambra, imagine a midweek if City were at home at Forster Square, potentially 15-20k people in the City on a Tuesday.
That could be replicated 2 times a week with the Bulls on a Sunday, or other sporting events on drawing in fans from outside the area.
Regards concerts, Why not Valley Parade some would say?
Because you can't get all the stage, lighting and production stuff needed through a 10 foot wide gate behind the Bradford end.
The same reason why we can't get more of the grass growing lamps as there is no where to put them.
Leeds put there's in the massive park and ride behind their ground as there is room.
All these points show the longer we are at VP the harder it's gonna be to find a new home.
We need one now, we will definitely need one in 10 years time if we want to progress.
It all comes down to our council.
The money is there, but it's blown on crap we never see.
We are 10th in the UK rankings for gross value added!!
Yet look what we get in return.
Wake up people, and let's start making those figures work for us.elleb likes this. -

Tickets for the first two planned events were pulled last month and the company behind the project NEC Group and Bradford council are refusing to comment on whether they have pulled the plug. -
Who has paid for all the renovations?
im presuming NEC had just been brought on board to run the shows -

They really needed to get some quality announced that suggests Bradford Live is serious about being a live venue. I can imagine that is very difficult to do when competing with Leeds and Manchester (to a lesser degree).Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand... -
