Bradford football book

    Late to the Game.jpg This is probably a bad time to promote a book about football in Bradford, given what has happened on the field this season, but LATE TO THE GAME will be published right at the end of May. It covers the introduction of soccer to Bradford and the early pioneering teams including the first ever Bradford City AFC (which played its first ever match at Cullingworth!) and long lost teams like Girlington and Airedale. If you pre-order the limited hardback edition by May 5th you'll get your name in the book too. A great Fathers Day present.

    I live in Cullingworth can’t think of a football field. There is a cricket field though

    When I was a lad in Denholme I played football on a pitch in Cullingworth up a lane opposite the Post Office.

    Ah I have consulted the oracle, he says, one is in the park behind the Main Street, and another running alongside the cricket field, so not only do Cullingworth have a football field, they have 2:)
