Great stuff! One of the main development areas I am involved in as an FA Coach is Walking Football. This is in the Woking where I live but already running (always a bad choice of phrase!) Over 50's, Over 60's and Over 68's teams in various fun sessions as well as more serious Surrey FA League and various national comps. This will become a very major area of football in years to come and is already showing massive growth year on year. Well done to the Bantams!

I play walking football at Pudsey leisure centre every Thursday night at 7pm There are also two sessions at Armley sports centre on Monday at 11.30 till 1.00 and Friday 12 till 1.00 . The cost per session is £3.30. They are very good sessions with a good set of lads. You make new friends and its a great way of keeping fit. If this is not near enough for you try your local sports centres.

Have a look at the Walking Football Association website - will have info on all active clubs and comps. But I would also speak to your local Leisure Centre as many of them are running sessions now and lots of them are just drop in and give it a go. Hope this assists

Great idea not only to keep senior people more active but also gives them a social occasion to meet new people which for some people will be the aim attraction with the football as an added bonus. For something so simple it's amazing that it's taken so many years for it to become established and formally regulated so that competitions can happen. No doubt this is only going to get bigger and bigger with more professional clubs having official walking football teams and a world cup probably not many years away.

Just an update. The finals were today down at St George's Park
It's been & it's gone but will not be forgotten. The day started at 5.45am & finished at going on 6pm. The inbetween had lows, highs, lows, highs & anticipation - Had we finished 2nd or had barnet pinched it off us? We had an
agonising wait to know the result of Barnet V Grimsby.
YES, we had finished 2nd in our league. Bradford City AKA Wakfield Wanderers now have the chance to play for 3rd place against Derby who had finished 2nd in their League. Game on, all to play for, could we actually win 3rd place?
YES we could & did, with an outstanding display.
Bradford City, Have come away with a very creditable 3rd place with medals for all the squad.
Derby were good & fair but we matched them in every department.
It was a very good final.
The score was 1 - 0, scored by me.
Apparently, I did a goal celebration not seen before according to my team mates, but without any film footage I can't confirm!
    WHAT A GREAT DAY!
