Although yesterday you were up against a clueless manager, I thought your front 6 took full advantage and pretty much tore us a new arsehole for the entire 90 minutes. I would have said all 6 were 8 out of 10, the movement and interplay on a dogshit pitch was actually a pleasure to watch at times. No exaggeration that the score.could have been near double but for lack of finishing, post and our keeper.

We might have to go backwards to go forwards. Hopefully Rupp will have learned from yesterday that either he shits or gets off the pot. Either sell up or make changes in your personnel. Cos I'm pretty sure thats what he would do if any of his other businesses were failing. Not sure where we go from here as it stands though Kev but something has to be done, Valley Parade so not a happy place and hasn't been for a long long time.

Right so we need a new stadium then. If I think at the clubs who have recently (last 10 years or so) had a new stadium then you’re looking at £15-£20million depending on quality of facilities and capacity. Oxford are looking at a new stadium at a cost of £130-150mill which will probably be an all signing all dancing complex and will also be fully electric.
So actually £500k is small change to what it would cost the club in loans and required investment to build a new Stadium.
Lots of clubs get help from their local authorities.. For a city of Bradfords size then the council would be silly not to even consider it.
Yes it’s not ideal losing £500k a year but we don’t have anyone willing to put their hand in their pocket and build us a new stadium.
I’ve mentioned it before.. Wycombe are currently looking to spend £20-£25million on new training facilities. WYCOMBE! We have ideas of being a club better than the division we are in but our infrastructure is really really poor. It’s seen years of mismanagement. I hate the cliche but we are where we are and deservedly.

Bluntly, the ace that Gordon Gibb's personal pension fund holds is that they can kill the club. They can see us lose our league status if we cannot fulfil fixtures.

I question if that's the outcome he would want. Would he want the vitriol that would come with that and the potential negative impact on his business?

As is a self-invested pension Gordon Gibb isn't bound by the requirements of standard company schemes. Hell, we could use the pension pots from 5-10 posters on here, set up a self-invested pension scheme and buy the ground ourselves if GG would sell, That group could then decide to charge a much reduced rent for the ground, if they do wished, but at the expense of their own personal gain.

It is purely Gordon Gibb's desire to maximise his investment, not any legal duty, that is the issue. As both trustee and beneficiary of his pension fund that owns the ground, he makes the choices.

Yes, he helped the club at the time when it had no where to go really, but he has literally and personally made millions from doing so. Millions from Bradford City fans.

There is a zero sum outcome: no Bradford City, no more income for Gordon Gibb and the pension fund left holding a piece of almost worthless land. There is also a situation where a much reduced rent is charged while in L2, to increase as we go up the leagues. It is in Gordon Gibb's gift to do this.

Absolutely right! The rent IS perfectly sustainable as long as the commercial income along with gate monies exist at current levels. If the latter two diminish then we eat into ground maintenance costs, staff costs, PITCH UPKEEP costs, playing budget costs. Once that happens ………

Just look at what has happened to Town and City High Streets when online shopping took hold.

@Staggo@Staggo nobody here cares about your club, mate. Well done on your success this season, every club with little history deserves a season of success so I'm happy for you but couldn't care less at the same time.

Most City fans care more about the future of our club rather than one small season of success

    How about this

Gibb wants 5m for the stadium
Rupp wants 10M for the club

Gibb gives us the stadium and becomes a 50/50 partner in the club... The clubs value goes up - Happy days

Totally understand your position plus loads of others on here, who live a considerable distance away from Valley Parade. I can empathise as although l don’t live as far away, l will set off around 12.30 to drive over.
At the moment it is absolutely glorious, up here in the Pennines. Dry and has been for several hours. Forecast looks decent. I am fairly certain it will be game on, although the pitch could well cut up, it should be capable of lasting the match. Whatever you decide to do, have a good day.

I think we'll win, for nothing other than it would sum up league 2, you get beat at home by second bottom and then beat the top team.

Bit of a head-scratcher for sure. I would think Walker will sit a bit deeper alongside Ritchie rather than Oduor or possibly the 2 switching positions when needed?
Going with a more mobile front line needed the nous and passing ability of McDonald to be effective for me, but the changes off the bench are there if needed.

In the depths of my mind, I’m recollecting that he’s got a great record vs Stags. He’s good against former teams. Big call by GA.

Nobody marking him! Joke of a set up there to defend the freekick. This could be a heavy heavy defeat

That’s what tall , mobile pacey players with serious investment gets you.

Oddly we should have two in the scoreboard even though we are being totally outplayed.

    Worth looking at Mansfield though;

    Keilor-Dunn Davis
    Quinn
    Bowery

Invest in players who have consistently performed at league two.

Not like Chapman, Smith, Oduor - players who've done a couple of appearances at a higher level and may be able to adjust to league two.

Or Gilliead, Ridehalgh - average league two players.

The data doesn't lie. We've consistently not created enough chances in the last 2 or 3 seasons or scored enough goals.
