What a sorry state of affairs it was last night.
Walking to the ground from the Broadway. A usual busy footcourt was empty. The pubs were quiet for a matchday from the City Vaults and past North Parade. Manningham Lane didn't even suggest anything more than a first round Bristol Street Motors game was taking place.
The stadium was quiet, at least half of the season ticket holders not bothering to show up.
The atmosphere was flat, so was the performance.
A really dire experience all round where I'd say we would be lucky if we still had 1k people left in their seats as the full time whistle went.
I was debating as to go last night, my daughter said she didn't want to go and I don't blame her. I was sat there thinking why have I bothered as those in positions of power don't give a shit, and the performance on the pitch was from a team who were already writing this season off.
I've seen some dross over the many years I have had a season ticket, and I really don't think I will be making much effort to attend an evening game this season.
Those idiots who comfort themselves in the fact that it's good we are down to the core support need to focus on the reality. I've seen a few thousand through the gates and it's not better when it's like that. The best times are had when VP has 20k plus in, not when 7k drag themselves there out of habbit.

Yet another shocking home performance. Huff and puff with no hint of intelligent play. Too many bad choice of pass. Too slow movement of the ball. No risk taking. How many times was Smallwood on the edge of the box only to pass. Shoot FFS. He is the captain and is part of the overall problem.
Another fussy ref that spoiled the game at times. Telling a player to take a throw in from point A only for them to eventually launch the ball from point B 5 metres up the pitch.
Hopefully this will put to rest the notion we are at least play off standard. We need a new owner ASAP or we are going to witness this shit show for years to come. Next seasons "sustainable budget" will mean less for player aquisition as less ST's will be renewed.
Probably 7K there tonight at best. Seems a lot have already voted with their feet, especially after Saturday's away win against a very poor Accrington side. Atmosphere was flat. NW Kollective singing that Bradford were putting on a show. Bizarre.
Am I upset. Not any more. It's just another home game where we have bottled it big style.
Morais said on radio that he thrived when playing in front of big crowds and that why wouldn't the current squad feel the same? Good question.
Overall thoughts. Not good enough. No player was over 5/10 and that is a concern as to why they can put in a performance like that as a unit after last Saturday.
FGR were organised at best but were hardly world beaters and for most of the game just twatted the ball up the pitch in vain hope (sounds familiar?)Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...Kevin1954, bantam2708, Idlebantam and 10 others like this. -
I questioned why after playing Wycombe off the park we couldn't adopt the same way of playing with Cook in the side well it looks like it's an easy option for the players who don't take any notice of what the manager tells them I can't accept Alexander tells them to play that way
We saw last Saturday what we could do with Cook in the team tonight we go a goal down inside the first minute yet continue to go long are these player brainless why does it take until half time to change things.
Not listened to Alexander's post match interview yet, but we knew anything less than 3 points tonight would leave any chance of getting 7th very difficult, I get it there were so many poor first half performance he could have taken anyone off but it should have been a minimum of 2 subs IMO once again fans could see our problems and voiced their dissatisfaction as the players went off yet our manager couldn't.
Once again a team in a relegation place come to Valley Parade and leave with all 3 points something is drastically wrong with our players mentality at Valley Parade, to say I'm p1ssed off is an understatement, what a time to launch the new season tickets sale. -

And just think a gifted young prospect with a football brain who is three moves ahead of any of that shower out there tonight can't even get on the bench. And for that alone they can stick there season ticket where the sun don't shine after a long long time.

If we don't get out of this division, at the right end, very quickly, attendances will continue to go down and, if we continue with the current break even policy, the player budget will go down, player quality will go down and, inevitably, Bradford City will go down.
Unless we get lucky this season or, maybe, next, only a change of policy from the current owner or new owners will prevent the inevitable demise of Bradford City.

I really can't understand the outrage disappointment etc on here especially from some of the old brigade (myself included)
last night's result at home to a bottom 2 club is nothing new/ shock we have done this for years, a few on here actually expected last night's debacle it's the way we roll
Going back in time we just accepted it turned up at the next match and actually enjoyed the match day experience
It's very different for me now the club has and are sticking to the brief don't go down and don't lose money no mention of what goes on on the pitch no mention of how we are going for at least top 7 next season (next season never comes by the way) and how we achieve it
Mumblings about not accepting mediocrity have stopped because we are mediocre, ambition less, and happy to plod along in the khazi league that's the difference
Once enough revenue has been raised to fund the following season to whatever degree it's effectively season over aim achieved
Starve them of this and we may change things who knows something has to be done one things for sure I ain't contributing to what is effectively a book balancing exercise in effect an existencebantamlad92, JudgeMental, Keefly Bantam and 6 others like this. -

It’s what we do.
We’ve done it regularly over the last few seasons.

Nothing to do with the dark arts

To increase season tickets by £50, and then produce that performance on that shameful embarrassment of a mud bath is the most Bradford City thing I have ever witnessed.

You want VP to be full and singing like it used to be yes? News Alert we all do!!! I am actually embarrassed that they are trying to manufacture a noise section of whatever they are calling it. News Alert for Ryan, improve this club and the noise level will take care of it self. Trying to herd all the noisy fans into the kop of elsewhere is cringe worthy. I have stood on that kop for years and we didn’t need someone to bang a drum in fact the noise level would have drowned out the drum.Jayteebee, Bronco, Keefly Bantam and 5 others like this. -

Mentally weak players with low quality and I’ve said this once il say it again I wouldn’t batter an eye if not one of them played again.
It’s money / budget simple as that as players with better mentality costs, quality players cost that’s why the top 3 is the current top 3.
You can chuck what about Barrow, Crewe whoever is above us on a smaller budget, however, they don’t play in a gold fish bowl environment for the biggest club on what should be a FA punishable quagmire.
Next year will be no different Chesterfield, Notts County, Carlise will all throw money at it and get better players.
This a structure and finance problem, it only goes when we either invest or Rupp goes.nicknameless, Get Rid Of It, bantam2708 and 4 others like this. -
I was too pee'd off last night to comment but in the cold light of day, the only person I'm blaming this morning is myself for being stupid enough to start believing again when it's crystal clear we are still going to be in this god forsaken league next season.

Mind you, if you can't understand the frustration and reasons why fans are quiet at games, or worse still, don't show at all then you're probably offthe opinion that we should just lap it all up and clap harder!WilsdenBantam, Bronco, Bantam-in-Greece and 4 others like this.
