Like I said previously, neither are pens but if you are giving one then you have to give the other. You can tell by the direction of the ball and the fact our players didn’t protest that the defender stopped the ball. The resulting slide was due to the conditions. It wasn’t a pen but neither was theirs.

 

I might be in the minority, but watching that closely, I think the defender does actually touch the ball first. Neither Eisa or Oliver appear to appeal

However, theirs was never a penalty either

 

He does mate. The usual juvenile tantrums. It was a great tackle. Don't think the players even looked at the ref.

 

We still need that combative midfield leader - just like Jones - don’t we.

quite how we find one available, on our budget, to upgrade this lot, I’m not sure though……

his subs seriously what was the point in bring them lads on in the 90th minute ???? You could see the game was getting away from us a good 15 minutes before ............. I seriously ain’t getting my hopes up anymore when it comes to this lot ............ no leaders no desire and no chance of promotion

So another apology coming our way for dreadful refereeing decisions, ours was stonewall there's 50 /50.
2-0 the game is done, they offered nothing up to those 2 decisions.
That game would have finished 1-0 without that clowns decisions
It is happening far too often now.
Also what is it with Hughes and his substitutes, should have got more firepower on much earlier.
What did he expect Cook to do in 5 mins and Pierra and Nevers in 1

 

It was a risky challenge but I think it was a good one.

 

You just know when we go behind we will struggle. Time we recruited a captain in my view. We needed guts and determination in that second half, what we got was headless chickens. Any player or fan who thought that Rochdale would be easy points have not read the script. You will fight to the death for your club status in the football league. Then the conditions must have been mana from heaven for Rochdale, levelled the playing field. Then we have Mr Ref who had decided we would not get the benefit of the doubt on any decisions. There you have it 1-2 to Rochdale. MH was talking about winnable points, ummmm nice little Rochdale team talk for the lads.

 

bet he can shoot better than Chapman ...........seriously have you even known an attacking player that constantly finds the stands on a regular basis ?????

 

Watch it again mate, never a penalty and tellingly, not one of the City players in the frame appeals for one

I can assure you mate even after 60 + years a performance and result like tonight doesn't get any easier to take, irrelavent of who Hughes brought on why did it take him so long, the Cook sub was a joke, I said I'd have changed Chapman for Walker at half time (knowing it wouldn't happen) I have no axe to grind with Oliver but we basically played the lone striker as Oliver offered little.
Harrogate game Cook took there best player Headley out and again tonight within 2 minutes of coming on he was spilling blood for the cause to win a header, for me Hughes has to start Cook at Wimbledon but our problems are deeper than one man.

 

The ref stuff is getting boring as f.

 

Ha ha, yeah. Tbf, I would actually start him over Chapman if it was a straight choice!

He has pace to burn, played a nice outside of boot pass - think it was for the Eisa ‘penalty’ but my God his wind up leg shooting frustrates the hell out of me. I think there is a player there but I’d bench him for a bit then ease back in.

if he’s benched we would need Eisa or other pace starting instead though, as lack of players willing to drive forward was our downfall prior to the Harrogate win, and he does try make things happen - he just has absolutely no end product at the moment while his confidence is shot.

Forget the penalties. At the end of the day we simply were not good enough, second best. Well done to Rochdale, poor side but they deserved the points.

 

There are three City players in that frame.

Oliver is complaining that he doesn't get the pass.

Eisa is wiped out, defender never touches that ball.

Sutton appeals for a penalty.

 

Ask a neutral. If you're sensible about it and you watch a lot of football, you won't have even had to wait for the ref to make the decision. As soon as their player goes down I knew it was a pen.
