Remember the Keith Edwards one where most of the Bradford end had one hand in the air with a limp wrist all shouting KEITH in a camp voice. Then he scored.

Too true mate , i know there is rivalry but when things go beyond that , in the hands of reckless people that dont care about the club most fans recognise at whatever level the old school clubs at least need to remain in existence

Aye, it was pretty much in their face, “love thy neighbour” type stuff in those days Chippy.

The dears would have a meltdown today! Harry Roberts…remember that one?

Everyone commented on Chapman giving up on the ball. It was a very good pass from Banks as it curled back, i.e. if Chapman had committed to it, he'd have got there.

We need to understand that Banks is a young player in his first season and no doubt as he's playing near angry man Chapman and never been in this high pressure situation before, somewhat nervous. Nerves, can be energy sapping.

Agreed. I never went with the unconditional praise he got early in the season - his lack of experience was obvious, particularly if you compare him to the more experienced Wright. Poor Halliday was constantly exposed.

However, he's got the skills and if Palace survive relegation - another loan is on the cards and he'll be far better for his years experience.

It was a terrible ball, the pace it was hit at he wasn’t getting there. I like Banks but he’s better than that type is pass.

I Think Halliday has been one of the signings of the season decent defender and gets forward well. No Meredith but steady away

Ah well, we all see things differently. I sit more or less in the centre of the quadrant that it was aimed for and no way did we think it was anything but a lack of effort from Chapman. I'd wager Gilly would have got to it.

Agreed. Particularly after the terrible season he had last year at Fleetwood after his ACL injury in August 2021.

So Banks was tired because Chapman was sulking?

That's a whole new level of scapegoating right there.

He also had 2 players inside him for an easy pass to keep the move flowing. Poor play imo and blaming Chapman for it is borderline insanity.

I think if you read all that I wrote and keep it in context, you'll understand.

I didn't see Banks been anything less than his usual inconsistent self.

It's amazing how he was fading in and out of games early season - Sutton was a classic, where he barely touched the ball for the first 30 minutes, it's now suddenly been noticed.

As I said, having the extraordinary sulk fest display of Chapman, will not help a youngster still finding his feet in football.

I’ve constantly criticised Chapman this season but he always wants the ball.He hasn’t done enough with it when he’s got it,but in my opinion Banks repeatedly not wanting the ball yesterday is poor, whatever your age or who you are playing alongside.

I don’t understand why Banks is short of fitness. Is he on deep fried Mars Bars and Tennants?

He’s been more effective from the bench lately, frustratingly. That said, I’d start him over any of our other wingers every time as he has a better delivery (usually).

First half Hughes was having a right go at Banks for not making a run when Halliday was looking for a pass, that for me is basic stuff for any player, your full back receives the ball you make a run taking the opposition full back with you.

Could it be he is not match fit? He has had a long lay off with injury. He is inconsistent but that is youth and lack of experience. Plus we don’t have good leadership on the field, we missed Clayton yesterday, he is quietly assuming leadership on the pitch.
