So when Bowyer leaves, the legacy he hands over won't be our two top scorers in the past two season, Vaughan and Doyle - it will be a tall lad from Stevenage, Lee Novak, and 35 year old Clayton Donaldson.

Not a single player of any monetary value, and nobody with a really promising, long-term future.

Let's just remember, three days ago we had Eoin Doyle (who's got 23 this season), James Vaughan, and the experienced Clayton Donaldson.

Why has he been allowed to reduce the ability of our squad so drastically? It's going to be a long time before the next manager is able to stumble upon a goal scoring freebie to take us forward....

    Cheers, City.

He's totally finished at this club after that window. He's gonna get it from all angles tomorrow.

Said it time and time again, take the responsibility away from managers and CEO or whatever Julian is.

Get a proper scouting team appointed and let the manager go to them with a list of what he needs and what attributes he wants and then they produce a list. Can then narrow it down with budget etc.

if the manager does leave for any reason we have all the reports for the next manager. Manager can still have final say but that way we might cut out this utter scattergun approach we have to recruitment now. How much money have we wasted? The money is there for it

    Exactly.

If Bowyer throws a strop after a game when the fans are REALLY on his back, all the support and encouragement from Rhodes and Rupp won't stop him walking away.

Then where are we? Exactly as described above - far, far weaker, with no proven scorers on the books when previously we had two.

Is this one of the worst transfer windows ever?
Nothing suggests weve taken steps forwards. If it starts badly tomorrow I can only see a backlash from the fans. Am sooo disappointed with this city. It feels like the towel has been chucked in. This window could prove to be seminal for many people at city players staff and board.

City’s activity Seems to be the exact opposite of backing your manager....

Just realised, as it stands Novak and Guthrie are our strike partnership for next season. Wow.

And no doubt Park bantam (Chairman Mao) and banbrotam (Kim Jong Il) will put a hugely positive spin on this and tell us how fabulous this transfer window has been, and how 9-1-0 is the formation of the future.

Have been to 6 away games so far this season. Lads couldn't be bothered for Mansfield so didn't go so tomorrow will be 7. Only going cos 10p rail tickets and meeting eldest in Manchester as he's at Uni. Good chance to spend the day with him.....and maybe see Dave, Rocket and SteveC from the forum!! Yes could be interesting!!

unless it was the managers decision to clear Doyle, Vaughan plus gang out? But so late a decision it didn’t leave much time

A touch underwhelming... But the summer window, that will see us right. Yes indeed.

At least the defensive unit remains intact; now more than before though they need to maintain their goals-against pace of less than 1 per match, thanks to a midfield that remains problematic and a forward line that doesn't really inspire. It's a bit of a problem when, 30 matches into a season, "own goal" suddenly becomes your joint top scorer! Mid-table nonentityness seems more likely than not to be our fate this season.

The squad Phil Parkinson handed over to McCall didn't have a player with any monetary value or a promising future either!!!! And that side reached the play offs in L1.

But had no monetary value and was boosted by loans which had returned back to their parents clubs.

No. More of a scouting system. Not one man who picks players. A network

To be fair you make it sound like it was all Bowyer's choice but it clearly looks like the deciding factor was ££££ not football.

No fan of Bowyer at the moment but this window was clearly being operated on a shoestring.
