Agree with both the latter points.

I've not seen it occur before this season either, which is why I was slightly baffled / wondering if I'd missed some new regulations being announced, and I too saw stewards (albeit very dumb looking ones) showing people to their seats holding pints.

I’m in bantams bar & have noticed it this season & it’s down to the stewards cause the ones I’ve seen with beer is in plastic glasses so stewards turning a blind eye cause obviously entering from Lower kop !

Me neither, though I have seen plenty of people stopped from taking booze through by stewards.

I'm not sure it would make a difference to the football cutlure in this country. Abroad they get into the ground hours before kick off, fans here rush in 5 minutes before kick off. It feels completely different and to be honest i like the approach they have abroad. It would be interesting to see if it did make a difference to how early people entered the ground but as it stands at the moment with the choice of fodd on offer i'd much rather drink and eat elsewhere.

From the Bantams Bar last week I saw two lads from lower Kop being shown out. Forest away quit a few City where smuggling drinks into the seating area. Stewards just took the drinks of them .

Think words have been said because early games in the Sunwin Lower lots were sat with beers but it now seems to have stopped at recent games

I can't see why beer is more of a hazard than boiling hot tea or coffee.

Twohats are normally not on caffeine. Beer and powdered stimulant more likely

Funny how attitudes change, younger I would have said yes, and I recall the days where it was plastic pints of cider from the shed at the back of the Bradford End. In an all seater ground someone on the middle of the row a piss then a pint, then a piss and a pint and so on and so on. Getting up and down to let them pass every ten minutes I would go ape.

Standing areas yes acceptable, seating I’d say no.

Like I say funny how times change.

Times certainly have changed, we went up to Hampden Park 1968 for a Home Nations game against Scotland, if you remember they beat us at Wembley the previous year to claim they were now the new "Champions of the World".
Anyway we were in the pub across from Hampden having a bevvi or two with the Scots guys, coming up to kick off time they went to the bar to get their "take outs" which consisted of several bottles of McEwan's Ale and a bottle of whiskey in a brown paper bag, I couldn't believe it when they got to the turn styles no police searches of their take outs, talk about gob smacked.

There used to be a few that smuggled bottles out in their back pockets and in their coats from time to time when we sat over there when McCall came ‘home’ as manager…...but never saw pints. We used to sit a few rows from the back so could see most of what the stand was up to. Think the stewards often confiscated, mind. The stands all have CCTV don’t they? So not hard to pick culprits out?
