And probably wouldn't have any impact on the club itself. It's an argument between a current and former shareholder of the club and the current shareholder (Oysten) not doing what the court instructed him to do over 12 months ago. It has no bearing on the club at the mo and from my reading of the EFL regs, doesn't meet the criteria for a points deduction from the EFL.

Things have been cranked up a gear now....things have changed from whats gone on in last 12 months.......

“As detailed in today's Blackpool Supporters' Trust (BST) column, written by vice-honorary president Tim Fielding, the legal team of Valeri Belokon are considering appointing a Court Receiver to realise the £25m debt the Latvian is still owed by Owen Oyston.”

But if you read the column they have nothing to show that they are looking into it any more than before.

What if Oysten cannot pay the debts so puts them into admin himself, citing he’s unable to pay 25m?

Then the admin would be initiated by Blackpool FC, not the EFL. They’d still get 12 pts

There's been a lot of posturing and threats going on for a long time. Let's see how it plays out.

The debt isn't the clubs so the fact he can not pay the debt couldn't be used to put the club into admin

The supporters groups have issues statements today readying themselves..... they want the fans to consider the implications of what may follow.

Nobody knows. Its all ifs, buts and maybes. That doesn’t detract from the fact Blackpool’s odds have been slashed for relegation and that they could get dragged into a scrap in our very own division, handing us a timely boost.

Nobody knows Robinson is guilty of a crime yet we’ve a thread of uncertainty surrounding him (and some of the stuff posted I bet has been libellous and has to be removed if its owt like that posted on twitter) ahead of his potential court case/charges.

Relegation has far wider implications than the outcome of Robinson’s court case - yet we’ve threads for that!

That's how I see it as well. However, in the process of 'collecting' the funds, to settle Owen Oyston's debt, the Court appointed Receiver could drag Blackpool FC into it, so there is a high level of uncertainty on how such a move could play out.

Oysten may or may not be able to settle the debts but that is his personal issue and not the club's. If he can't afford to pay the debt, he may in extremis have to declare himself bankrupt since the debt is his and not the club's.

    Ah ok.

The fact they have mentioned a points deduction in their paper....you’d like to think they’d know the craic, but if they aren’t au fait with the regs and its merely a journalist making assumptions, fair enough.

No, if it's a choice I want to carry on discussing the forums moderation tactics.

Interesting to note though that a once prolific poster such as yourself has only made a dozen posts in over a month and one of those was only presumably as this thread was going off topic.

I suspect it's people associated with the club getting a little panicky because this is a very unusual situation. Oysten is a loose cannon but he does have fingers in lots of businesses, not just Blackpool. If it gets to point at which the Court Receiver has to extract £25m from Oysten's grubby mitts, I suspect there'll be easier and better ways than liquidating the football club to raise the money!

Interesting assumption. It could well be that.... or it could be that I got a promotion at work at the end of November, or perhaps it's that I now have a 9 week old daughter as well as a 4 year old to keep me busy. Perhaps it's even a combination of both.

Regarding Blackpool, I would imagine that they'd wait until nearer the end of the season if administration is on the cards. That way they could decide whether to take the 12 point hit this season (if they were safe from relegation) or next.

William Hill have cut them to 7/4 to be relegated now. Not taking any chances of getting filled in!

I was suggesting now the individual who caused the most controversy has left the club, and Hopkin is getting results so we are all happy City fans hence very little new threads being generated.
