Poor recruitment of players of the right character leadership attributes and consistent quality in all positions. Our new manager will now have seen what made Mr Hopkin's mind to go - spineless crew who have shown up to today they are not really bothered about the club and its fans.

 

Because of this bull we have around the club "the door is always open for anyone". That mantra has left us with a large squad of mainly substandard players. The January transfer window should have been an opportunity for us to get rid of the deadwood, and get some players in who could have made a difference to our league position. Instead, we put all our eggs in one basket, gambling on Payne, who has now not started the last three games, and was subbed at half time today.

You did underestimate the lads though Jon to be fair. They did score!

Just dug up an article about when we entered administration in 2002. I seemed to recall we attempted something similar then and lo and behold:

 

Big errors for me (on the playing side)

- backing Scannell as our only real wide threat when we "lost" Robinson. Needed more reinforcements
- lack of fitness coach at the start/preseason
- not getting in another striking option in January
- more on the possibly minor side - not replacing McGowan, letting go/not replacing adequately Jim O'Brien, signing young O'Connor (pointless with 5 loans already, feel sorry for him)

I could go on but those are key ones for me.

 

I think Payne has suffered from a change of manager and a bit of a loss of form.

Think it all got a bit "real" in January after the brilliant December and he suddenly had to start continuing with the good performances. Probably why league one is his level. Or maybe not, maybe he'll prove me wrong.

Change in managers affect people too. Mine at work switched a few weeks back and the new one doesn't gel with me and I already feel different to how I did a month ago. I can imagine it's the same in football.

 

I am now totally bereft of any hope. These players talk a load of optimistic
bullshhhhh and they should be ashamed taking good money for no return.

The answer is beyond football managers,we've tried enough of them, div 2
here we come, but I really feel we may not stop there,we could go into football
oblivion.

 

Mate I think we are already in football oblivion.

The blame for recruitment of the players is well documented HOWEVER the players have had long enough to sort themselves out and play as a team. But they can't.

No bottle
No spirit
No togetherness
No fecking idea

 

Well I will renew. New grounds to visit next season. We’re screwed but every cloud.

 

That is what most of us City fans have been brought up with apart from the odd season where we've won a promotion, give me 100% effort you'll give my support.

 

We are on a dangerously slippy slope and action needs to be urgently considered and the long suffering fans need to be addressed on the situation.

Because the current owner may not want to facilitate £2m losses this year & god knows what next season.
If no one comes forward to buy the club in it current state then administration is a distinct possibiliy for an uniterested owner or the next person to take on a potentially debt manageable club

This lot are the worst city team I have ever seen . This lot don’t give a toss about the club apart from caddis. We pay the wages and this shower of shite take it . If I performed at work like this lot I would be sacked
