Billy Knott has just signed for Concord Rangers in national league south. Home town club so maybe he can put his inner demons behind him and let the undoubted talent he has show again

Kind of. As you're an Essex local you'll know there are of course 2 teams on Canvey. Concord Rangers and of course the mighty Gulls (i.e. Canvey Island FC). Like in Manc land you are one or t'other. So either a Canvey supporter or a Concord supporter. I'm a CI fan so on that level Billy's signing is a 'meh' from me. As a life-long City fan I'm pleased for the lad. I've said all along that he'd end up in non-league and I've been proven right. People on Canvey are a pretty tight-knit community (2nd most 'English' town in England by all accounts) and we look after our own. I think it's a good call Billy coming 'home' for a time. My only fear is that he thinks he's some Billy Big Bollocks again and starts to large it up locally. if he gets his head down and trains and plays hard then he's still got a future in the game. Oh, and he broke Junior Hendrie's left wrist during an under 8s match many moons ago and I haven't forgiven him for that. :)

That's his level. He was never a football league player.

Yes. It is really interesting. There are a growing number of Jewish families moving in. Integration is going well and everyone has been very welcoming. So far proving that two cultures can integrate if neither is judgemental or tries to force their own beliefs down the others throats. This will be an interesting story to follow in the coming years.

A fresh article about Billy Knott. Playing part time and working in an asbestos ‘management’ unit! From Stamford Bridge to very little it seems. Not sure if he can get back up the greasy pole and whether he has matured and can now deal with living away from Canvey? https://www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/sport/17373506.chelsea-memories-spur-knott-on-in-bid-to-revive-career/

You wonder if that article should be compulsory reading for the likes of Patrick, Devine and Gibson and to some extent Jones and Reeves, although it may well be injury in respect of the last two.

I can't believe Patrick still gets a wage from us. it's astounding.

we've got Patrick on the books and people are saying no thanks to Billy Clarke who is roughly 4000 times better.
