The one bit I had to chuckle at in disbelief was when sparks said the team gave us some unbelievably fantastic memories last season, that he wouldn’t forget for as long as he lived (or words to that effect)

I think it shows incredibly poor taste on your part, to try use something as sensitive as alcoholism as a beating stick rather than a proper comeback or argument, when you have no idea of fellow poster’s circumstances

If you're referring to Sparks then really it should be the owner of the shipping line you need to direct your ire to.
In some ways I feel sorry for Ryan. His remit from his boss has been 'don't go out of the league and don't go bust'. Which, it seems, is the limit of our owner's ambitions.
In which case RS has actually done a good job. Revenues have gone up through increased ST sales and via the corporate side of things.
If Rupp had ambitions beyond that then RS has failed. But Rupp seems to want to do a Dave Simpson, which as any of us older fans will recall was act as custodian of the club until someone with deeper pockets came along. And to be fair to Dave it was clear he never had the money to do anything but keep the club going.
If RS wants us to get promoted then I suspect this is outside his remit. I'm sure Rupp would be very happy if it happened but he certainly isn't actively setting that as one of RS's objectives nor putting anything in to achieve it.
I'm sorry to say it but RS is the new Dave Simpson. Keeping the lights on until someone or some group ponies up enough euros to take the club off Rupps hands. His ambitions for the club are anchored to that of his bosses, which are very limited.

 

On hearing that comment I found myself trying to think what fantastic moments last season. Did we get to a League cup final, hammer Northampton at Wembley or Pummel Chelsea at Stamford Bridge!..
Or was he referring to meekly going out of the play-offs at Carlisle with MH's attempt at penalties.
