So after an influx of January signings, Barrow are now looking to furlough 6 out of favour players. Surely, this should not be allowed. I hope somebody from the Government blocks this, and I hope the EFL look into this, it's a disgrace if allowed to happen

Actual rules and laws being broken = None.

Ethically bringing in 9 new players and sticking those who they replaced on furlough appears to be an abuse of the system however.

Don't be suprised if this spread through the league.

    agree on all your points.

I can not see the PFA or the EFL being happy about it. I suppose now with the Flexi furlough clubs could furlough players for a couple of days at a time, eg our game is off tomorrow so we could furlough all the players till Monday and save a bit of cash

The PFA have just lobbied to remove the salary cap, and the EFL have passed clubs to owners who are somewhat questionable to say the least. They really have no moral authority.

If they signed 9 players and made no attempt to offload either via sales or contract terminations then you could see it as abuse but I wonder if unlike the City players who cancelled their contracts Barrows refused and/or turned down moves and that certainly changes things if its the case
