Owning nothing has zero bearing on what happens between 3.00pm and 4.50pm

The lower divisions are about pace and work rate not about faffing about making meaningless passes that get you nowhere,

Totally agree. High press the defenders into mistakes. Don’t stop running and play high up on the shoulder.
Oliver almost got a goal yesterday doing exactly that.

Many managers have tried to get us out of league 2 in recent times and only Phil Parkinson succeeded.
A dinosaur manager with dinosaur tactics but that’s all we needed at that time.
You need clever tactical managers at higher levels but not in non league or league 2.
This is why PP never succeeded beyond league 1.

He kept Bolton in the Championship in their first season up with no money and players not getting paid.
    Was that success?

I know, one couldn’t make it up. Look at the times they scored. This unpunished time wasting is laughable . Soon to see the 120 min game without extra time ;).

Cook isn’t a high presser, neither is Angol, Harratt could be?

Not on yesterday’s showing….., nor the Donny game either, so not sure how we miss it when he’s played a high percentage of both games. Zero effect USG. Running quite fast in a straight line doesn’t make a footballer.

Which is why we aren’t creating many chances.
Harratt looks as though he has the energy to press. Tbf, Cook presses much more than Angol.

If the aim is to stifle play, be hard to beat and simply survive then yes it’s success but our definition of success is not that

If Harratt and Young play week in week out we’ll be up there no matter who plays up top.

Agreed. We want to get promoted.
Bolton, in the circumstances, were pleased to survive.

Well it does though. A mouthy club that owns nothing then people want to beat.

“These lot thing they are better than us. They train at school, own nothing don’t be scared of their fans. We are better, go out there and show it” Team talk done by management.

An old article I know but it shows that not many clubs own their stadium.

Sorry I called it as I saw it, Barrow won't be challenging for a play off spot and if we don't stop this possession football with very little end product neither will we.
Shame Harrett was suspended I bet that would have been a great battle with Canavan, the few times they were troubled was when Cook came on and put himself about, I know I keep championing Cook but he will score goals at this level and Hughes needs to start him IMO it might not be sexy football but it rarely is in league two, I'm not panicking yet.

Cook will never be more affective than when he comes on for the last 30, wouldn't have anywhere near the same impact if he starts games, far better him coming on when defences are tiring...

Exeter, FGR and Bristol Rovers all played decent football to get out of league 2 last season, Rovers taking the best part of half a season to get the team playing like that. This idea you have to play hoofball like Parky did is a myth, if you have the right players in the right formation you can win promotion playing good attractive football. Hughes hasn't got his team set up right yet, it's only two games into the season so no need to throw the football manuals out of the window and go long ball. It will take time.

I'm not convinced he's going to be happy with that, which is why I still think there's a chance he will leave before the window closes if he gets an offer to be a regular starter elsewhere.
