Barnsley Away 12th Jan

Could we get 3,000 fans there after the season we've had up till recently.

 

I think we’ll take 3k bronco . Our recent Away followings have been good with Sunderland and Rochdale . Burton away in a few weeks should sell out if our form keeps up . Bit of a buzz back

 

With the blank weekend last time, the fans are looking for their next Bantams fix. Reckon we will sell 3k+, yeah.

I genuine didn't have a clue @vin weasel, we were on about the teams recent turn around in form and both seemed quite happy with the way Hopkin and McElhone are working them, hard training but they demand 100%, they said.
They were the only players training on the front pitch setting cones up with I think Ben Nicholson so maybe both will be available for team selection soon, the rest were around the back and I didn't fancy the trek around the side of the river and under the railway bridge.
As I said above Mellor said Payne still here and there was someone new training but would not say who, I'd not read about O'Connor until I got home, so I thought it might have been a replacement for Kai.

There were block/seat numbers on the Rochdale tickets but it was 'sit where you like' on the day. Probably the same at the De Dahs.

 

Iam but the other 4 times I've been to oakwell, I've had a ticket with all the details on it but been told sit where you want.

According to a mate of mine who worked in Barnsley, the 'thee and tha'ers' are from Sheffield. Apparently some Barnsleyites instead say 'dee and dah'. So Blunts and Wendys call them Dee Dahs and chant that at them (in the manner of a police siren) during local derbies.

 

In League's 1 and 2 allocated seating is ludicrous.

I much prefer to walk in and sit / stand where I want - a crowd of 4,000 and you've got those type of people who must sit in the exact seat their ticket says. BORING!

If its reserved setting what do you do, sit in the seat you facy then have a debate with some one who comes in as the teams kick off and debate whether you should be sitting in it or not.
I agree all games shoud be unreserved but even at Rochdale 30 minutes before kick of the stewards were trying to force you to go into the far end near the Rochdale fans, I told her they were unreserved which means you sit where you like, she found it difficult to comprehend and was adamant we should start filling the stand from the far end.

 

Clearly at Rochdale it must've been dependent on where/when you got tickets. Ours had block, row and seat numbers on and we were told in no uncertain terms sit where your ticket says.

Away ends should be unreserved, reserved makes no sense. However clubs need to get out of this habit of selling some reserved and making POTD unreserved. It's all or nothing, completely reserved or completely unreserved. It's caused issues before and I've seen infighting between City fans previously, notably at Walsall and Oldham.

 

We bought our tickets on the day as we'd been up to Sunderland and saw the situation there so I rang the Rochdale ticket office on Friday and they told us they were selling them on the day or we could just queue.
Then when we got to the turnstiles there were fans paying in the same turnstiles as fans with tickets until a steward allowed those with tickets to go in before paying fans.

Unreserved seating works well at places like Barnsley as those who want to stand can go to the back and those who want to sit can go further forward and you still get a good view. Trouble is sometimes you're below pitch level at some grounds and if your ticket says you should have a better seat then well you have every right to sit there..
