Didnt expect anything today, but a return to the shite served up pre December is not good, A big wake up call today

The major disappointment is we changed things, and that provides the focus for excuses and scapegoating.

Instead of losing to a better team, the narrative switches to less relevant statements about tactics and formations.

Its a shame to read about it, because our team is nowhere near as complete as Barnsley's and its quite clear on basically every metric this season has and will ever produce.

 

Yeah, but playing Caddis at right back doesn't close the gulf in class. I doubt it would have made too much difference, the focus needs to be on what we need in order to compete next season.

The answer is: a lot more quality throughout the team.

Tinkering and making strange choices isn't a big enough deal to dominate discussions. We're second best to Barnsley by some way.

 

I am surprised that the away following was only 3,500 as it looked a lot more to me.

 

We haven't attacked the good teams at all Jon, we've sat back and been negative against them all and lost every single one. I was hoping today we may have gone for it given our recent form but unfortunately it was the same as every other big team we've played.

 

More loans - we need a morale-boosting signing, in my view, either David Ball on a permanent or someone else in it for the long haul.

We are, quite rightly, focused 100 % on the relegation battle, but with key players like Caddis on short term deals and virtually all of our best players on loans we have no control over, it does seem very precarious.

The fantastic results in December will be very hard to replicate if key figures like Payne and Miller walk away.

Thankfully it feels like Ball and O'Brien will stay where they are, but that could change very quickly.

Hopkin can say what he likes, but he'll struggle to replace all of our quality.

Despite some delusional viewing, the lad Doyle works nothing like as hard as those guys, and the reason we've had so many resounding wins is based on their tireless hard work.

 

Once we saw we were struggling playing Hopkin's first half formation why didn't Hopkin just sub O'Connor and tell Cadiss to revert to right full back and bring Miller in to support Doyle leaving Payne, Ball and O'Brien in midfield. I'm not sure it would have changed the game but it would have been a similar formation that we have played recently that has brought us the great football we have seen.

 

Was on the double decker. Yes, Steve's knowledge came in very handy!! And I won the guess the goal time as well so £20 in my pocket as well!!

 

Lets just say Saturday was not DH's finest hour!

Away fans are housed in the modern North Stand, where the facilities and view of the playing action are generally good. The concourse is of a fair size and has access to an open air area if fans need to smoke. The normal allocation for away supporters is 2,000 tickets and fans are normally housed on one side of this stand on the East side. If demand requires it, then the whole of this stand can be allocated, increasing the number of tickets available to 4,700. The acoustics of the stand are not bad meaning that visiting fans can really make some noise.

I found this club to be particularly friendly from the car park attendant to the programme seller. Even the P.A. announcer had a sense of humour (although a little optimistic), when he announced that perhaps the visiting fans would like to come up again to see the next Barnsley home game, so that we could see a decent game of football!

However, I have reports of fans getting hassle in the town centre. Although I’ve never personally had any problems at Oakwell, it may be advisable to keep colours covered especially around the town centre.

 

Was on tv we scored very early then got battered.

 

Solid work, I personally think we'll lose 2 1.

Their five match unbeaten run includes very, very tough teams, and there's a big difference between beating on-form sides with real quality than half-assed mid table sides and dross like Oxford and Rochdale.

 

Don't be so sure, the Second West are back on the bandwagon, not forgetting all the Year 11 Schooligans.

 

I wonder if that's on advice from Bcafc?
Stops lots of teenagers without a purchase history from other clubs turning up on the day and teaming up with our fooligans.
I know there were Oldham and Leeds supporters at Sunderland and Rochdale.
