I am a student at Loughborough University working in collaboration with the University of Massachusetts, to help research rivalries in the English football pyramid. The Know Rivalry project is seeking to learn more about the psychological, cultural and commercial effects of football rivalries in the UK.

The views of Bradford City fans could be used to support the marketing and broadcasting of the club, especially in the build-up to games against rivals. Collecting Bradford City fans' opinions is particularly important, being the division's largest support.

As an AFC Wimbledon fan, I am pleased to have been given the task of collecting data on League 2 clubs this season and it would be greatly appreciated if you could share your views using the following link: https://umassamherst.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3FdJ8eN2EgFCfCB?collID=10&grpID=1424

Feel free to ask any questions.

    Thanks, Jude.

I got as far as main rivals and discovered I cannot select who I consider our main rivals to be, which seems a bit strange for a survey to help research rivalries in the English football pyramid.

Leeds Utd, Huddersfield Town and Burnley for me. None of whom we are likely to be playing anytime soon in the league - well, maybe Huddersfield next season

I'll take a look at the survey and fill it in for you.

I don’t consider Leeds or Burnley as rivals they are in a different stratosphere to us. In my opinion Town and City are comparable in size but at the moment they are well ahead of us but are more of rivals

Do we have any bad blood that is based on history rather than geographic location. Past events can often lead to bad blood between clubs. Sunderland / cov, Gillingham / Swindon, Walsall / Vale force ample. I can think of any examples of rivals we have based on past events.

Terriers cos of the proximity. Hull cos of THAT game. Leeds just because. Never really got into this "Yorkshire rivals" business. Much prefer to goad and beat teams from across the Pennines.

I used to do scrap books of City matches and was looking at the time we played Norwich in the cup in 76. One of John Bonds rants after we got the game postponed was that unlike Norwich Bradford will never play in the top division in fact they’ll have to go part time or more likely go out of business altogether. A bitter man he certainly got his prophecy wrong.

Some of us have long memories, perhaps it’s time to let it go?

Why on earth would he 'let it go'?
Would you let all your memories go?
What a strange thing to say.
