Both were genuine guys, with the club’s interests at heart, and told it how it was. They made a niche for themselves with the podcasts and did what they did, well. Fair play to them for having the vision to try something new.

Some of the comments are laughable about them coining it in. They sold a few gimmicky items on the side, mainly at Christmas, but its hardly likely to have been enough to give up your day job for.

I thought they struck the right balance between getting close enough to the club to speak to players and staff and therefore add authenticity, without pulling the wool over fans’ eyes when it wasn’t rosy.

Ultimately some didn’t find them funny, but some did. It is the same with many things in life and the same for many radio hosts or TV programmes. If you don’t like it you turn over.

 

No issue with them personally. Met both a couple of times and seemed decent fans.

I was never forced to listen to their podcasts. They rid a decent job on Radio Leeds when guests on the Bantams Specials too.

 

I was thinking just the same. Is it possibly a non forward thinking club which lacks creativity and a persoanlity?

Personally I think it's a shame they have decided to call it a day. It's always good to have a range of formats to provide alternative views on the club. It appeals to some but admittedly not all but that's the beauty of it. We had a good and diverse presence on all forms of media.

Good luck to them in whatever it is they pursue going forwards.

 

overly harsh. you didn't have to listen to them and they were not funded by the club. Society nowadays is very quick to criticise people for doing something which they can try do themselves but choose not too. With blogs they have to be slightly extroverted and big headed and different. Would you log on to listen to Mr normal, drivelling on, saying the vanilla lines. No it won't offend anyone but would be dull. Its meant to be entertainment not a lesson.

Pretty much the same view, tried listening to a podcast but it wasn't my thing. Seem decent enough fellas though.

 

Do you complain about every retailer on the high street/internet too?

 

I think there's room for a no holds barred (within reason) Bradford City podcast. A little group of City fans who have no ties to the club and have free speech to say what they want without repercussions. I feel Bantams Banter were and WOAP are very close to the club and sugar coat a lot of issues and were worried about offending the feelings of players/staff/board members inside the club. Just think in times like last year when stuff really needed to be said it was really watered down and didn't really reflect the true feelings of the fans. On the flip side it would be nice to hear from the run of the mill city fan and hear their opinions as by the evidence on here there would be disagreements which would be an interesting listen instead of the current podcasts just agreeing with each other as they are all pals.

Listened to them once years ago and didn't like their podcast. Thought they were full of ego, and just not funny, but fair play, obviously someone liked them.

 

I'm guessing the miserable bastards on the T&A comment page are the only ones to have a voice?

The edin interview is their legacy unfortunately, a shame as early on some of their stuff was pretty funny.

 

I would guess at hardly anything.

Never listened to them, it's not really my thing but think (could be wrong) their intentions were good. Fair play them, their only doing what modern social media people do.

 

Do you think because they are City fans they are charity and owe us something? I think you'll find the volumes they are buying in the product doesn't come from the far east either.
