Not directly City Related so I will delete it in a couple of days (Well move it to a more suitable forum) but I know most of you never check out the Football Forum on here.

A few of us on here play the Fantasy Football game Sorare and during the Euro's they ran a special version of their Free to Play Rivals game where as well as competing individually you were also playing collaboratively with those in your private league. We setup a Bantam Talk Private league which some of you joined in on.

Anyway it certainly added an extra dimension to rivals and was a big success for them and they have decided to integrate the concept into their normal rivals game and we have once again setup a Bantam Talk Squad (What they are now calling Private leagues). We currently have 5 people in the league but we can have upto 10 and some extra players would be useful.

If it doesn't interest you then you can stop reading here (But remember it is FREE and you can win Prizes including Mystery Signed football Shirts) but if it does then join with the following link

and I'll detail how Rivals works below

    How it works?

Sorare Rivals is a Player vs Player Fantasy Football competition where you choose 5 players, get matched with another player and whoever players score the most gets 3 league points the defeated opponent losses 2 points. These points decide your ranking in your individual division but also contribute to the combined score of the Squad you join.

If at the end of the 'season' (Seasons are a week long. Each starts in Tuesday at 3pm and ends on the next Tuesday at 3PM) you and/or your squad are in the promotion places you will move up a division and also win rewards

Now unlike the Euros where the matches you can enter were limited to just the Euro matches and if you entered more than 1 a day just your best score counts in Rivals you can enter every game in all covered league (Except K-league) can and every result counts. You get 1 Free entry a day but you can win additional tickets both at the end of each season but also for completing certain missions inside rivals. As you are limited by tickets you need to pick which ones to enter carefully, you only want to enter a match you.

To play you click the Blue Play button you can see in the screenshot above (the text may be different if you have already used your free daily entry) and it will show you the calender of the games on today. Click on the one you want enter and you start to select your lineup.

A lineup is 5 players, 1 keeper, 1 Defender, 1 Midfielder, 1 Forward and then 1 extra Outfield player. Each player has a 'cost' which is the average of their score in Last 15 matches and your squad has to come under a certain 'Cost'. This squad cost differers in each match. Your can select your players from one side or you can have a mix from both sides (In general I would advise not selecting a defender or keeper from one team and a striker from the other as its hard for both to do well)

Pro Tip 1: ideally don't enter a lineup until the matches lineup has been announced. When Lineups have been announced the players starting will be highlighted on the selection page

When you have selected your lineup you then get to pick a captain, that player will get a 20% bonus on their score.

Next you get the tactics page. Each tactic has an attribute assigned to it, for example Tiki Taka's attribute is Accurate Passes and it also has 3 thresholds. If you select that tactic and your team reaches that threshold you score bonus points. The page shows you the average your selected lineup achieves to help you select the best tactic for your lineup but you also have to take into account the match, if you its 1st vs 20th and your players are from the 1st lace team then choosing Park the Bus might not be a good idea even if they usually have lots of clearances ad the 20th team may not have many attacks.

When you have chosen your tactic click the play button and you are entered. You can choose to just forget it until the end of the match when you can check how you did but you can be more active and still change your fortunes. You get ONE SUB a match so if a player is doing badly you can swap him out. Previously you had to make the sub before they came on but now you can sub a player for upto 5 minutes after they came on. So if it's a match you are watching you can gain an advantage.

Pro Tip 2: It might seem obvious to enter matches you have the most knowledge of but that will often mean the bigger leagues, especially the Premier League but often as you know more about it the player you get matched might also. If you can do a bit of research before hand it can be easier to win smaller matches. A match in Australia, Chile, or Japan can with a little bit of research be easier to win
