    Well done one year and counting. Great site, where else can fans chat and fall out. Tin hats at the ready for D2, all we need is a bad start and the site will be in melt down.

    No one walks on North Street anymore due to the plethora of Mercs and Audis and BMW's doing donuts and racing in the early hours.
    I will take a nice walk around Cliffe Castle grounds though. Lovely since they did it up.

    @king karl@king karl I really hope that more forum members become paid up supporters to assist with running costs.

    If there is a surplus after you and the other main forum men/women have covered their costs (ST etc :innocent:) could you donate to the burns unit or keep in escrew until the next flyover is mooted? :unsure:

    If a donation to the burns unit was to be done it would probably be better done as a separate donation drive. The thing with running a website is you always want to keep a surplus on hand as there will always be unexpected issues or necessary upgrades.

    For example, at some point, we will need to move to Xenforo 2.1 as this version will stop getting official security fixes and 2.1 will have reached a stability/efficiency level where its on par with what we are running.

    Or we currently have 1200 registered members and at its busiest, we currently hit around 70% resource usage. The attendances have been between 11k and 19k this season for league matches so with 1200 there is a significant untapped market just from match going fans so lets say we have a sudden influx of new members which can just randomly happen with forums then we may need further server upgrades

    Or there is always a chance that some unknown exploit is discovered by hackers and they end up causing havoc not just here but across hundreds or thousands of xenforo sites. Depending whats done this can be time-consuming to identify and fix the exploit while getting everything restored to how it should be

    Ofc there is a point where a surplus gets enough that you can cover most possible unexpected expenses and use a bit for something else but you certainly need a surplus
