Agree. Fantastic to see Robinson and Lavery score.
Always good to get individual's morale on the up.

As I posted last Tuesday, while watching the Hartlepool game, they have scored nearly forty goals between them in the past two seasons. That is decent and it seemed almost self-defeating to ignore them and continue with Cook taking all the responsibility for goal-scoring.
Glad that Derek Adams has given them a chance, changed things a bit and will now give the opposition a bit more to think about.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...Bantam75 and Botswana Bantam like this. -
You joined the debate, when you wanted cast iron proof that Gilliead did something good during the first half of the Bristol Rovers match.
This is because when you also wrote "Gilliead has been consistently poor" you put yourself in a position that there is no way back, without conceding that you're wrong.
i.e. when he scored his tap in goal that's proof that he's not "consistently poor"
Or when today he did his flick on for Lavery's goal that is not evidence of "consistently poor"
You then suggest I've not explained how he is compromised in playing his natural game, when I've explained it in about four different ways - all in detail
i.e.
"Adams has brought Gilliead in as a RM player who's part role is to recycle the attacking play - not necessarily be a 100% creator. Adams and some other managers would argue, that you can't just have two wingers in the top third of the pitch all the time - so someone has to make a sacrifice. Particularly as we have Cooke as an attacking midfielder as well"
It's quite easy to see why we might not have seen the best of Gilliead, particularly as we've hardly had our first choice central midfield on a consistent basis. Unless you think Songo's playing there about 4 times is "consistent".
You might not agree and I couldn't care less, but don't say, I've made "unsubstantiated" statements. This illustrates why it's pointless defending Gilliead to you - because you'll always ignore what's written as deflection tactic
Finally. Let me know where I used the word "hate" to describe your attitude to him. That's what you call an "unsubstantiated" comment.
But you call me a WUM. It detracts from your rather unintelligent 'black and white' comments about "inconsistently poor" Gilliead is.
I repeat, because otherwise you'll forget. He has been inconsistent. So has everyone in the team, apart from Canavan and Songo's.
I'm simply fed up of Bantams, frustrated with the past few years - throwing players under the bus when barely a quarter of the season gone, without thinking through that there might be a reason for it, their inconsistency.nicknameless and net blaster like this. -
I think if Adams thought Lavery or Robinson were fit enough before, he's had played them.
He has a loyalty to the players, which is vital for long term success. We beat Rochdale, had a 'roll up your sleeves' to on form Newport and frankly should have buried Bristol Rovers. I don't see how he could drop anyone after that - hence the Hartlepool team.
For me, he's a very good man manager (his getting Sutton to be at the top of his game is a great example of that) and I can see why he's gained promotion at every team he's been at.
We just have to trust his judgement.Doodle and Tom Hallett like this. -

Absolutely typical of City -play utter shite one day and then go away and win 3-1 with 27% possession.
It does my head in.
So we now face FGR and could close the gap to the top to 7 points this time next week. Barmy division.
Even Gillead played well apparently. Got an assist and took up some good defensive positions.

Clearly wasn't picked, because it took him a while for him to get his fitness back and we were doing OK in the league.
Came into the team after the terrible Crawley performance, when we'd been doing fine, in the league, before.
I like the fact that Adams refuses to rush players back, just to satisfy us. We've seen how that's benefited Songo'o as well as Sutton. Looks like we might be getting the same with Canavan, Lavery etc.
He plays a great importance on fitness. Always hasbantamdave41 and Doodle like this. -
Another thought. We created a lot of chances today and Cooke and Vernam weren't on the pitch.

I kept thinking yesterday that we were playing exactly the way that Adams had always hoped we would, defence was solid, midfield more mobile and apart from Cooks miss we finished better, as someone said earlier let's hope he doesn't overthink it next week, should be a good atmosphere now around the club...

Brilliant result yesterday, I just can’t work out why we are horrendously inconsistent.
Also a hypocritical comment from myself as I don’t do away days but our away following is embarrassing when it’s more than 80 miles away. The Evidence and Rogered Tart like this. -
That isn’t a shabby figure at all.
Come up with some guidance on what sort of number you think will be sufficient to Cease being ‘embarrassing’,as the average was over 1,000. -

Seems I’ve rattled a few with my opinion but I’ve just had a look at Swindon’s forum and I’ve seen a few comments saying our following yesterday was surprisingly low for a so called big club.
