Just watching Man U get mauled by Liverpool and their fans are leaving in droves some going at half time, its not unique to Bradford City fans, why leave early they'll, only be sat on the coach awaiting the rest of the Plymouth/Exeter/London Reds getting on the coach at the final whistle .

 

You do make a point that generally for the longer away games we don't travel particularly well for numbers. Not sure why but its always been like that.

 

Yes I agree I think what Begins meant was, that we get huge and fantastic numbers say if it’s 50 miles away far more than a Swindon would take for the same journey. Yet longer distances we don’t take really anymore than clubs like Swindon. That’s no disrespect to those who make the effort either, it’s just we have a lot of fans but it doesn’t translate into long distance away support. Plymouth are the best example they’d have taken around a 1000 for a similar trip yet we get more home fans and would probably take more away within 50 miles then they would. It’s always been the same.

 

I was at both those games you mention and circumstances dictated those away followings as you allude to. Form does play a part in the size of the following.

 

BB made a valid point as you say yet some took offence to it even though it wasn't a criticism more an observation.

 

I doubt they'd take those sort of numbers in their 4th or 5th season in the National League though.

 

Ok, you have to take in to a lot of factors.

1) We’ve a shite owner that doesn’t attend games so why should others.
2) We’ve a shite owner that doesn’t want to spend money on the club so why should others.
3)We’ve a shite Prime Minister that’s turned the country into a mess and prices for everything are going up.
4) Shite Covid is still about and numbers are raising.
5) Bradford City as a club for years have been shite on the pitch
6) The season tickets to watch Bradford City who have been playing shite are cheap and I would say our hardcore base is around 8k
7) We’ve started the season shite.
8) On average we do take a good following to games, so you are talking shite.
9) Not many other clubs have been through the shite we have recently.
10) I couldn’t give a shite what other people think of us.

 

Bet you wish you hadn't said owt now.

 

People would get used to ifollow too much and watch too many games that way instead of making the effort to watch home and away games live. This would impact on atmosphere for me.

Couldn't agree more Keefly. It's a no-brainer for every club. When you're doing well, fans are enjoying the football and there are positive results on the board, you feel a hell of alot more motivated to spend your hard earned cash on going to more away games. It is what it is. Add Covid and alot of fans still concerned about mixing in large groups plus those who've lost their jobs and income because of the pandemic, and 400 plus at Swindon looks pretty good to me.

 

Well said. Support like yours should be applauded and not derided by others. Your support, the clubs support is very good considering the plight the club is in, self inflicted.
I had just done Crawley and Newport and was considering Swindon but decided against it, as I was feeling pessimistic. Did the races instead, bloody great day. My disposable pound is subject to many takers. Bradford City are not exclusive to my money. I've booked 18th Dec off primarily for the away game at Carlisle but a back up plan of Haydock Park, if necessary

 

That’s just not a severe enough punishment.
They should have the Man City cup tie stripped off them and handed to us instead as compensation.

This dislike of McKirdy is hilarious, living rent free in so many people's heads. I'd have him in as city's team tomorrow.

 

I'm not sure. Every manager he's had has referenced his poor attitude in one way or another and apart from this season he's done very little.

He may continue next season and perhaps I'd regret it but right now? Not for me.

That's what I picked when trying to pick Saturdays team. I'd even be tempted to put Sutton wide right and move Cooke to a central midfield role even though it would take out part of his game.
