I think where other teams have disappeared mid season, all results are expunged.

I'd have thought their results would be wiped I'm sure someone will know what happens if a club go out of the league part way through a season, but as yourself lets hope we don't see another old club 1874 going out of the football league.

Last time it happened was Aldershot in 91/2, wasn't it? Their results were expunged, as were Accrington's in 61/2. Maidstone disappeared after the 91/2 season had ended so their results stood, and this season, Bury never got started.

Their results would be wiped out if they went bust or it would be massively unfair on any team that hasn't played them.

Seems strike might be have been down to them not being insured as the BBC are now reporting that their players have been advised not to play or train as they aren't insured. Things looking very ominous for them if the club aren't paying their insurance, feel very sorry for their players & staff especially with Christmas around the corner and they won't be able to sign for another club until January unless they go into non-league.

If they went bust tomorrow then Exeter , Swindon and Cheltenham would all lose 3 points and we’d lose none.
In that scenario it would benefit us hugely

No. All the points for Macclesfield games would be wiped out. Otherwise those yet to play them would be disadvantaged.
For those of us with unused tickets, we would become unsecured creditors I presume, although our actual purchase was made at City, so not sure what would happen there.

I would suggest some caution is exercised, with regard to any travel arrangements, in respect of the revised date. Given the perilous state that Macclesfield Town Football Club is currently in, there is good reason not to commit to any non-refundable bookings in respect of the new date.

Saturday should be a good indication, Macclesfield have said that they've started the process of paying players and been given 30k by the EFL as an advance on money that will be owed to them for participating in the EFL Trophy. If that money doesn't go to paying the players then they might strike on Saturday as well so if they play then that would suggest they've all been paid and that will cover the club to the end of the month so should be no danger of the game not going ahead due to player strikes.

My understanding is that only three players have been paid (Macclesfield fans are suggesting it is the three with a resale value); also, as per the Sky News article, posted by @Storck@Storck above, the Police have been called in to investigate alleged "missing" pension contributions:
There is a possible buyer waiting in the wings but, just like Steve Dale, at Bury, it seems the current owner is not in a hurry to let go. If I had to guess about the rearranged match, I'd say its 50/50 as whether or not it goes ahead.

I think the 3 players that have been paid were paid on or before Wednesday and the EFL have only released the 30k today which they've said it to help pay player and staff wages so the money might take a day or 2 to get into their account then be sent to the players.
One of the big issues at the weekend was that the players health insurance wasn't paid but not that it has it gets rid of 1 bih hurdle.

Looking more grim! “Macclesfield Town's players have refused to train and say they will not play Saturday's League Two fixture against Mansfield if they are not paid by 18:00 GMT on Friday”. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50438021

So just over 2 hours for the club to resolve the issue.
