Well we won at the weekend and could easily have won on Tuesday had we taken our chances. I just don’t think the recent performances have been too bad and certainly don’t warrant your OTT negativity. Call it what you want, thick, negative, irrational.

 

Pritchard and Connolly back then we win. If not then we draw at best.

 

If we are cemented in the top 3 in January, surely you can forgive a narrow defeat by our injury hit team this week. One thing is for sure, injury hit or not, we will not win every week.

So yes, we dont get your completely over the top negative reaction to the Vale defeat.

Thing is, its such a tight division where no one really stands out. On Saturday we could have easily been left with a point, i think every game bar one, excluding draws, has had one goal in it . Even the Oldham game they were the better side the first half.
We’re starting to play some decent stuff but with a coupke of injuries i wouldn’t say we were any better than 3/4 of this division. With the way this divison is it wouldn’t surprise me either way if we clear at the top by Christmas or sat half way in the table.

 

Looking at the weather forecast for Saturday, best get your best rainwear out folks for that uncovered standing behind the goal.

And therein lies my point, Idle. City are currently injury hit, and so therefore as fans, our immediate thoughts should be that we are grateful for any points gained, and any lost are a consequence of that. I am not being negative, just pragmatic and realistic, with half our team missing.
And likewise with you, as to Alex, WHAT is OTT in being cautious ? I'm not a negative person, and the Crawley game warned us what to expect - next time out, despite our chances, we failed. Macc is yet a further hurdle to leap, so YES, cautious, I remain.

Popped down to Rawdon Meadows. this morning but only Connelly being put through his paces with a one to one I presume with the fitness coach.
Hopefully he'll be back for Macclesfield.

As Connelly was having a breather I asked if the rest of the squad were round the back, I think his reply was "they having a day off" but to be honest he has a very strong Irish accent.and Im a little mutt and jeff.
