I personally think the criticism of any manager after three matches is unfair and hugely premature. It can’t be denied the weather played a part. It also cannot be denied that we have been throwing the lead away under the last three managers. It didn’t start with the current guy.

The weather played a part, as it will for every game at the moment but that doesn't give the players or manager a free pass for the actions they take. It's just another factor. -
@Lard Arse I like a good conspiracy theory However, I accept your view that it is poor management. The fact that they were unprepared to think about sacking Bowyer to the last minute is reprehensible and neglectful.Mitchelldownie and Lard Arse like this. -
I am guilty of it and agree with most of it but every game is now micro analysed.Old city man and Onside like this. -
and especially as we haven't won away for ages so he tried to strengthen at the
back but it didn't work. Because a) he doesn't know the players well enough
b) he probably felt they had a big advantage second half with the wind and
he doesn't yet realise we can't do the "Alamo" any more than Davy Crockett!
Looking at our season over last couple of months we've had teams battering
us away and we've not held out and even teams starting off on the front foot
because they know we are weak. It's a big job for Stuart and knowing how he
cares for this club he will be desperate to succeed and I hope he does.Tony Wilkinson and Onside like this. -

Calling him for making the wrong change is one thing, calling him by saying he hasnt learnt a thing since last time (as some have) is another -

If it’s the case of money, perhaps Rhodes and Rupp should write down on the back of a fag packet, what the basic sums are of a) getting promoted vs b) paying a nominal fee to let Devitt play.
Stuart must surely have found out by now, that we don’t have creativity in our midfield, and Akpan and Pritchard aren’t the answer. He’s sussed out Anderson, Gibson and Devine, I wouldn’t put Devitt in the same basket as those guys.Mitchelldownie and Fordy117 like this. -

But yes it is a little strange a lad who is prepared to put himself about in midfield can't make the bench when that is exactly what this present team are lacking IMO.Tony Wilkinson and Onside like this. -

What is blindingly obvious, though, is the average managers at Swindon, Crewe and Exeter have all been in place since 2017 or 2018.
Not 12 days.
That time has allowed them to develop a playing style and bring the players in to play that style.
There has never been anything wrong with the style Stuart has adopted in the past, and his win ratio has been consistently high with the occasional slump that he generally hasn't been able to get us beyond.
But there isn't a manager in the world who hasn't had a similar slump and faced the sack. -
