4-4-2 for me with Evans and Donaldson up front, Evans looks poor in midfield but has proved himself as a scorer so put him where he can naturally play instead of a kid who does not look up to the mark

 

We don’t have the personnel for a 4-4-2 , you need decent wingers who track back to play what is a very old fashioned system and certainly Ismail and DMH won’t do that. I think he will play with his usual 3-5-2 with possibly one of the kids at the back and give Scales his full league debut in a midfield role. Evans up front is very likely.

We have plenty of players to play 4-4-2 or a variation of it (4-3-3 ) It is a much simpler and effective system, I would argue we do not have the players to play 3-5-2 as we have no wing backs in the club and our downfall has been trying to play full backs there who have been caught in no mans land time after time,

 

Daniel Johnson has scored 12 goals in 17 games in all competitions this season. That suggests not only is he on hot form (scored a hat trick in the last game), but that he is getting supply.

They seem to play 4 3 3 which could be a nightmare for us.

I think whether we get a draw or a tonking will depend a lot on how long we can hold out for, and how badly heads drop if we concede.

I'm going to forecast a 1 1 draw though.

You are old fashioned, You do not need 2 wingers to play 4-4-2, Usually teams just play with one or use it as an extra midfielder to tuck in especially away, 4-3-3 is also a variation that most top sides use

 

Who would you play wide though Trevor in a 4-4-2. The perfect 4-4-2 team was with Beagrie and Lawrence in the promotion team of 98/99 Thompson and Reid could do it as well as they were effective going forward and tracked back, but there is nobody in this squad who could do that. 4-3-3 is a possibility but I then don’t think he will risk a young kid with just 2 centre backs and I think he’s poised to bring one in.

 

Evan's didn't look fit on Saturday, the build up to their third goal the lad who scored left him for dead, he was struggling to get anywhere near him.

We had 5 midfielders at the weekend and created nothing apart from a Donaldson header that came from a cross from the wing. If you play central midfielders out on the right and left then they have a tendency to move inside. We have seen this problem before when McCall was chopping and changing every week and people called for 3-5-2 or 5-3-2 which ever way you want to interpret it. If he goes 4-4-2 tomorrow and we get beat then he gets murdered.

Trying to be positive but only seeing another defeat away from home.

 

Could be one of those freak results where we defy the odds ala Huddersfield in 87.

 

I expect we'll be true to form and be 2 - 0 down within first 20 minutes.......
