Despite the lead, we have been really poor, in my opinion.
Hoofing to no one and losing possession so easily with poor passing.
We need to get a better grip on the game second half because I can see Exeter coming back

 

Beaten by a better footballing side today. Too much kick and rush by us, sad to say but Exeter deserved the win today

 

Of course it has, any team would miss the likes of Rowe Novak Cook, you are a strange person

 

Cooke was the only player above a 6 today. Another motm performance.

 

Absolutely wrong, Park, Wood was awful as a wing back.

He's a full back through and through.

 

Sometimes I think I watch a different match to others, maybe I take the same happy pills as park and should learn to be more glass half empty!
A point would have been fair today, even their commentators were praising Cooke who absolutely dominated midfield in the first half. I also disagree with the FCD comments. Until the enforced change half way through the first half when Page went off, Willmott absolutely smoked Wood, was eating him alive, he’s a great player to have at this level, had he not swapped flanks FCD wouldn’t have been put under such pressure. Add to that Steven’s appeared incapable of doubling up or helping out, and Sutton was off par today leaving FCD hung out to dry. For me three basic things did us today.
1) no one capable of holding the ball up on the pitch but we kept on hitting it long
2) playing one up top encourages the opposition to push their fullbacks up which means it’s essential for our wide midfielders to check back
3) Steven’s has showed nothing to show either offensively or defensively that he warrants a start

 

That meant our mids had no one where they could pass to feet. Yes FCD got caught out today, he is 18 and an 18 yr old in any profession will have days like that. He had no help and even though he is playing out of position, he has played his part admirably in the past few games. We need to get behind him and encourage one of ours rather than destroy him.

 

I don't get this idea that Hosannah is the answer at RB. He's no better defensively than FCD is.

 

He's got little in the way of goal threat, and should only be a bit-part player for the rest of the season, but the nonsense posted about him on here and elsewhere is ridiculous.

I've seen him described as lazy, not trying amongst other bizarre criticism that has no basis in reality.

 

He's a warrior is our Rory, wish him all the best and a very speedy recovery. Absolute BCFC legend. Although I'm glad he's not playing, I wish he just had a heavy cold rather than whatever this is. Get well soon Ledge.

 

Lived for 15 years in Cornwall and regularly attended St James Park as closest civilised league ground (Plymouth usually had all the pubs around closed and the local estate lads vandalised any parked cars!). Great range of local pubs around St James Park and friendly locals.

We seem to have spent most of the 90s and 00s avoiding each other, but the one that sticks in the mind is the 4-1 loss in 2013 (ruined my birthday!). I left that game convinced that we had blown any chances of a playoff place and that Exeter were good enough to make the automatics. Anyway we hardly lost a game after that and still only made the playoffs because Exeter hardly won another!

We are on a good run at present and Exeter have I think played 5 games in 15 days, but suspect it will be a draw. Will be good to see Mccardle if he has recovered, but see Nicky Law is going to coach in US.

 

Good news on Staunton. I had heard that the club hoped he'd be back around end Jan, rather than the 3-4 months he was initially ruled out for. He'll have a tough time getting back in though!! I actually wonder whether he'll feature more as a left back next season, if Wood goes.

 

I wouldn't be so quick to write this season off just yet. 8 points or more from the next 4 games, and its on.

 

We’ve lacked depth all season. T&S have done an excellent job, with very limited options. They do now have choice, in several areas. It’ll be interesting to see how they manage the good problem of having to make difficult choices, because of the options they now have.

 

Great run forward from Vernam. Cooke composed and Vernam with a good volley/tap in.

Suppose that perfectly proves why the managers picked those 3 upfront then....

Speed. Something we havent had for about 6 years.
