Attendance figures at City

Here's an interesting article : https://bantamsheritage.com/category/attendance-stats-record/, as I rarely missed a home game I #'m sure I will have attended that game, the lowest attendance for a league home match at Valley Parade was 1,249 on 15th May1981 for a Division Four fixture with Hereford United.

 

Still the sort of attendances Salford can only dream about

Yes I think it would have been the Paddock for us, our Bradford End days would have been long gone.

Absolutely loved the Paddock. Used to buy a bag of sports gums from the kiosk between Paddock and Kop.

These days, the cheap prices make it a no brainer, despite the iffy on-field efforts.

Not quite, it was the return to Valley parade after the fire when crowds really returned. Even Trevor Cherry’s great side only got about 6000 in 84/85. Then when we returned to valley parade regular 5 figure crowds became the norm. Crowds slumped in the 90s as the team deteriorated and even when Richmond came and we got to play offs in 96 we were only getting 5/6000. Getting to second tier and then the Midland road stand opening got the crowds up again.
